2023-09-18@8:30pm--#Westport CT-- A Fairfield assistant chief was returning from a call on I-95 when alarms went off in his vehicle alerting him to levels of radiation. He isolated it to a Ryder Truck and was able to get the truck to park at Sherwood Island State Park. Department of Energy & Environmental Protection Agents were called to the park along with state police. After a short period of time, they found the radiation with acceptable levels. The truck was carrying medical supplies which may have caused the activation. The truck is being cited for a number of violations including improper placard of hazardous materials.

2023-09-17 #Westport CT-- Thieves Target Victim Carjacking Him Westport, CT-- On Sunday, September 17, 2023, at approximately 3:50 PM Westport Police responded to a residential burglary and carjacking on Bayberry Lane. The complainant reported that as they returned home and pulled into their garage, two (2) suspects entered the garage. The suspects assaulted the complainant while they were seated in the vehicle and subsequently stole their blue Aston Martin after forcibly removing the victim. It is believed that the suspects arrived at the residence in a dark blue BMW, as this vehicle was seen fleeing with the stolen vehicle. #Norwalk CT--On September 16, 2023, at 10:12 p.m. Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a 911 call regarding a person who had been shot at 261 Ely Avenue. Patrol Division Officers arrived within two minutes and located two victims. Officers provided medical aid to a male victim who had been shot in the back and a female victim who had been shot in the arm. Both victims were transported by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital. A third victim, who sustained a gunshot injury to the foot arrived at Norwalk Hospital by private vehicle a short time later. #Bridgeport CT--On Friday, September 15, 2023, at 21:32 hours, the Bridgeport ECC (Emergency Communications Center) received a report of shots fired inside a rooming house located on Myrtle Avenue. The caller provided information that implicated a known tenant as the individual responsible for the gunfire. In response to this report, Bridgeport Police were dispatched to the scene. As officers were en route to the location, they received additional information that the individual responsible for the shots fired was under supervision for criminal possession of a firearm, currently on three years of probation, and registered as a deadly weapons offender.
