CONNECTICUT CO-LEADS $1.25 MILLION MULTISTATE SETTLEMENT OVER 2019 CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE DATA BREACH

Connecticut to Receive $67,505(Hartford, CT) – Attorney General William Tong announced that Connecticut, along with 45 other attorneys general, has obtained a $1.25 million multistate settlement with Florida-based Carnival Cruise Line stemming from a 2019 data breach that involved the personal information of approximately 180,000 Carnival employees and customers nationwide. Connecticut will receive $67,505.86 from the settlement.In March 2020, Carnival publicly reported a data breach in which an unauthorized actor gained access to certain Carnival employee e-mail accounts. The breach included names, addresses, passport numbers, driver’s license numbers, payment card information, health information, and a relatively small number of Social Security Numbers. 2022-06-22 #Bridgpeport CT-- This evening, Amheir Noel (DOB: 7/15/02 of P.T. Barnum Housing Complex, building #6, apt #208) was arrested for fatally shooting Kyle Dear in the P.T. Barnum Housing Complex on June 13th. Noel had been arrested by our gang task force earlier today on unrelated charges in the town of Milford. During a post-arrest interview, Noel admitted to shooting Dear. The murder was said to be in response to Dear’s friends robbing and pistol-whipping Noel.Noel is charged with Murder and Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit. Asian Longhorned Ticks Identified In Fairfield Beach Area

FAIRFIELD, Connecticut (June 21, 2022) – Last week researchers from Western Connecticut State University’s (WCSU) Tickborne Disease Prevention Laboratory identified several Asian longhorned ticks (ALT’s) from a dog of a Fairfield beacharea resident. Due to this finding, the WCSU research team yesterday conducted surveillance sampling of the overflow grass parking areas of Penfield Beach and various areas at Jennings Beach and found a significant number of these ticksin these areas, indicating that these ticks are now well established in the Fairfield Beach area.
