2021-12-11@ 6:49am–#Bridgeport CT–The Bridgeport ECC received a report of a person stabbed on Jane Street. Police responded to the area however the victim was not located. A short time later, Bridgeport Hospital advised that a person had just walked in reporting they were stabbed. It was initially reported that the victim was walking his dog outside when he was stabbed. Reports indicate the party was stabbed twice in the left arm and the injuries appear to be non-life threatening. According to the victim, the suspect ran up behind the victim and stabbed him twice. There is no description of the responsible person at this time.
#Seymour CT– The Seymour Police Department is investigating a car vs pedestrian crash which occurred at 6:05 pm on Bank St (Rt. 67) in front of Klarides Village shopping center. At the present time the road is shut down and will be for at least the next 3 to 4 hours or longer. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes. The road is shut down at Bank St and Swan Ave and Bank St and Woodside Ave as well as the entrance/exit of Klarides Village shopping center. The vehicle struck 2 pedestrians and left the scene without stopping. Only description is a dark colored SUV with heavy frontend damage. If anyone was in the area at the time and witnessed the crash or saw a dark colored SUV, possibly an Acura MDX with heavy driver side front end damage heading E/B on Bank St from Klarides Village shopping center are asked to call the Seymour Police Department at (203) 881-7601. Any help from the public will be greatly appreciated.
2021-12-09@1:00pm–The Ansonia Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired on Fourth Street. Officers responding to the scene found several shell casings on Fourth Street and Star Street. Witnesses to the shooting reported three suspects, possibly male unknown race, were walking in the area and all three fired handguns around the intersection of Fourth Street and Star Street. The suspects were all dressed in dark clothing with winter hats and masks. They ran from the scene and may have entered an older model red Hyundai. Several of the shots struck a home and parked car, but no people were shot.
Police UPDATE: This afternoon, detectives exhumed the body of a man believed to be Aryndel Castro. The body was buried under five feet of earth in a crawl space under the detached garage of a single-family home located at 1803 Noble Avenue. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy tomorrow and attempt to confirm the identity of the man.
The body of a missing 24 year old who disappeared back 2013 was discovered in a home at 1803 Noble Avenue. Yesterday afternoon, Shawn Gibson 24, of Lakeview Ave, Hamden, CT was arrested in connection to the 2013 disappearance of 24-year-old Aryndel Castro. Gibson is accused of murdering Castro with the assistance of Terrance Boyd,55, of Columbia, South Carolina who was arrested yesterday morning in Columbia, South Carolina.
Castro was reported missing in September of 2013. The following spring, members of the Bridgeport Police Homicide Unit got involved in the case, investigating it as a possible homicide.
The evidence also suggests that the two men then engaged in an elaborate clean-up effort, purchasing cleaning supplies on multiple occasions at The Home Depot and renting vans twice, once from The Home Depot, and the other from U-Haul. They reportedly used these vans to move Castro’s body more than once in the days following the murder.
During a post-arrest interview, Gibson acknowledge disposing of the body and agreed to cooperate with detectives to recover Castro’s remains.
Gibson is charged with Murder and is being held on a $250,000 bond. Once the extradition process is complete, Boyd will be brought to Connecticut and will also be charged with Murder.
2021-12-09@3:05pm–Bridgeport CT– Firefighters received a call of a rollover accident with entrapment on Mill Hill Avenue. On arrival, firefighters immediately immediately began extrication and the patient was removed from underneath the car. The severity of injuries is unknown at this time.
On 12/08/2021, the Fairfield Police began receiving 911 calls reporting shots fired in the area of Fairfield Woods Road and Stillson Road. A caller observed the passenger’s arm reach out of the open passenger’s side front window, point a pistol into the air, and discharge four gunshots into the air. It was reported that the vehicle continued driving at a high rate of speed and turned eastbound onto Fairfield Woods Road. It was observed four more muzzle flashes from the vehicle at the intersection of Fairfield Woods Road and High Ridge Road. COMPLAINANT observed the vehicle enter the Fairfield Woods Library driveway and he lost sight of the vehicle. A license plate was provided.
A Fairfield PD Special Officer was working in the area and also reported hearing several shots fired. Immediately after hearing the shots, Special Officer observed the vehicle traveling eastbound on Fairfield Woods Road and began to follow it at a distance while notifying Fairfield Dispatch of the vehicle’s location. The vehicle was located by officers eastbound on Fairfield Woods Road where they conducted a traffic stop and took the driver and passenger into custody.
John Blackwell (right mugshot) was arrested and charged with C.G.S. 53a-63 Reckless Endangerment, C.G.S.53a-8/53a-63 Liability of Owner/Reckless Endangerment, C.G.S. 53a-203 Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, C.G.S.53a-204 Discharge of a Firearm from a Public highway, C.G.S. 53-206d(a) Illegal Carrying of a Firearm While Under the Influence of Alcohol, and C.G.S. 53a-181 Breach of Peace in the 2nd Degree after being found to have fired a gun into the air from the driver’s seat of his moving vehicle. Blackwell was also issued a Misdemeanor Summons and was charged with C.G.S.14-227a DUI. $50,000 bond, court date 12/21/21.

2021-12-09 #Fairfield CT– Police statement: Early this morning, the Fairfield Police Department was made aware of a text message that mentioned a possible threat to the high schools. Police were immediately notified and investigated. Security measures were implemented at both high schools during the investigation.
It has since been determined that the text was in reference to an incident from Trumbull that occurred yesterday.
There are no threats to the students and staff of the Fairfield Public Schools. All schools have returned to normal operations.
2021-12-09@3:59AM–#BRIDGEPORT—#ctfire A viewer sent in this phot from a fire in the 800th block of Shelton Avenue. Bridgeport Fire Department Incident Command reported a working fire which was subsequently upgraded to a 2nd alarm. On-scene reports indicated one burn victim that was transported to the hospital. Unknown status on the victims condition at this time but reports indicate significant burns and smoke inhalation. Nine (9) residents displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross. Mutual aid provided by Stratford and Fairfield Fire Departments assisted with fire station coverage.
