The home at 32 Vine Street suffered significant damage on all three floors and caused damage to the house to it’s left. Everyone safely made it out and there were no reported injuries to either firefighters or occupants. 2020-12-31 #Bridgeport CT-- A man wanted in the assault of an elderly man was arrested by Bridgeport Police. The assault was on a 74 year-old man which took place at the Stop and Shop bottle return at 4531 Main Street while the man was returning bottles and cans. It appeared that the suspect attempted to cash out the victim's bottle receipts. The victim was treated at the hospital with serious injuries. The suspect was identified as Verol Clarke, age 49. He was taken into custody without incident. Bond was set for $25,000.
Hartford, CT) — Attorney General William Tong today joined a coalition of 15 attorneys general and the City of New York in filing a lawsuit challenging the Department of Energy’s (DOE) final rule undermining current energy efficiency standards for residential dishwashers. The rule, issued at the request of the anti-regulatory group Competitive Enterprise Institute, unjustifiably exempts a class of dishwashers from energy efficiency standards by creating a new, unnecessary category of dishwashers defined only by shorter cycle times.
