I-95 Crash

2020-11-28@9:00AMish--#Westport CT-- #cttraffic--At approximately 0900 hours on Saturday, 28 November 2020, Westport Fire along with CT State Police and Westport EMS were notified of a motor vehicle crash on I-95northbound between exits 18-19. While en route, responding units were updated thatthere was a report of a person trapped under a vehicle. Units arrived on the scene and founda two-vehicle crash with one person requiring extrication from under one of the vehicles.It is believed that the trapped individual was outside of the vehicle in the breakdownlane checking on a mechanical issue when their vehicle was struck. The first was on I-95 southbound near exit 29 but was not visible on the traffic cameras. #Bridgeport CT--Shortly after a reported rollover accident with injuries at Barnum and Noble Avenue. #Faifield A car on Wakeman Avenue appeared to have missed the turn, hitting a boulder and pushing it in the middle of North Benson Road. There were reported injuries.

CONNECTICUT CO-LEADS $17.5 MILLION MULTISTATE SETTLEMENT OVER 2014 HOME DEPOT DATA BREACH

Hartford, CT— Attorney General William Tong announced that Connecticut, along with the attorneys general of 45 other states and the District of Columbia, has obtained a $17.5 million settlement against Georgia-based retailer The Home Depot, resolving a multistate investigation into the 2014 data breach which exposed the payment card information of approximately 40 million Home Depot customers nationwide. The State of Connecticut will collect $1,093,196.25 through this settlement. The breach occurred when hackers gained access to the Home Depot network and deployed malware on Home Depot’s point-of-sale system. The malware allowed the hackers to obtain the payment card information of customers who used self-checkout lanes at Home Depot stores throughout the U.S. between April 10 and September 13, 2014.  In…

Engine 1, 2, 3, 4, Tac5, Truck 1 responded with atotal of 22 Firefighters, one shift Commander, and two Safety Officers. On arrival,heavy fire was visible at the rear exterior of the Cape Cod-style home. The fireextended up the exterior vinyl siding and enter the kitchen. The interiorsuffered heavy fire and smoke damage. The fire was under control in less than 20minutes.
