Suspect Arrested Following City Hall Restroom Recording

On August 17, 2026, at 1:27 PM, Norwalk Patrol Officers were dispatched to Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Avenue, following a report of a suspicious person. Norwalk Combined Dispatch advised responding officers that a male suspect had entered a women’s restroom, used a cell phone to record an individual inside, and then fled the area. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, who reported that while inside a stall in the women’s restroom, an individual held a cell phone underneath the stall and appeared to be recording. The suspect then fled the area. Responding officers searched the surrounding area for the suspect but were unable to locate him. Arrest Made in Check Fraud Case

On March 31, 2026, a financial officer for Maplewood Senior Living of Westport reported that the business had been the victim of check fraud. Three checks mailed as payments to the same vendor between October 2025 and February 2026 had allegedly been intercepted and altered to name different payees. One of the checks, in the amount of $12,085.12, was altered to list 25-year-old Tiery Mene of Rahway, New Jersey, as the payee. Further investigation, including the execution of search warrants for bank records, allegedly showed that Mene deposited the check into his personal account. Bridgeport Fugitive Found Hiding Under Trash Bags, Arrested by Task Force

On February 27, 2026, the Bridgeport Police Task Force—comprised of local, state, and federally assigned investigators—was notified that Wilber Martinez, 38, of Bridgeport, failed to appear for a scheduled court date on February 11. As a result of his failure to appear, arrest warrants were issued. Martinez had previously been released on a $500,000 court-set bond following his August 2023 arrest on several charges including two counts of Manslaughter with a Motor Vehicle, six counts of Reckless Endangerment, two counts of Risk of Injury to a Child, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Reckless Driving, speeding over 70 MPH, driving without a license, and additional motor vehicle-related offenses. Norwalk School Staff Member Arrested for Assaulting Students with Martial Arts Chokehold

2023-03-24 #Norwalk CT--A staff member at Brookside Elementary School was arrested for assaulting three fifth-grade students. On February 24, 2023, the Norwalk Public Schools contacted the Norwalk Police Department about the incident. Stefanie Sanabria, a Math Coach, put a martial arts chokehold on the students in class, causing one to lose consciousness. The School Nurse helped the unconscious student right away.
