Motor Vehicle Evading Accident Arrest On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Patrol officers responded to the area of Cross Street and Wilton Avenue for a reported motor vehicle accident involving two juvenile pedestrians. According to the initial report, a black Mini Cooper struck two juveniles who were crossing the street and then fled the scene. Both juveniles were transported to Norwalk Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Responding officers interviewed witnesses and reviewed surveillance footage from the surrounding area. On Monday, October 19, 2026, Norwalk Police Detectives arrested Frank Williams, 40, of Norwalk following a lengthy investigation into a series of prowler complaints at 8 Oakwood Avenue. Since July 14, 2026, Norwalk patrol officers have responded to 8 Oakwood Avenue on seven occasions for reports of suspicious activity. During the investigations, residents reported seeing an unknown male walking along the rear balconies of the condominium complex and looking into condos. The incidents primarily occurred in the evening and overnight. Patrol officers conducted proactive patrols while detectives continued the investigation. Two Arrested Following Investigation into Illegal Cannabis Sales at Local Vape Shop On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, members of the Special Services Division served a search warrant at A-to-Z Tobacco Vape located at 108 Connecticut Avenue. This is part of an ongoing investigation into the illegal sale of marijuana and THC products from A-to-Z Tobacco and Vape. Investigators located several pop-top style containers of marijuana, pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes, and KRATOM, a Schedule I narcotic. Investigators found a fake wall, which locked and unlocked with a remote-controlled magnet. A large amount of marijuana flower and THC cannabis products were located inside. Items seized were as follows: -12.5 pounds of marijuana flower and THC products -926 capsules totaling 562.6 grams of Kratom.…

He had been advised that an individual had made an in-person unauthorized wire transfer from one of his accounts to another unaffiliated account in the amount of $89,000.00. Through investigation, John Hammonds was developed as a suspect in this incident. It is alleged that it was Hammonds who had conducted the transaction at an M&T bank branch located within the state of New York by representing himself as the victim. On August 17, 2026, at 1:27 PM, Norwalk Patrol Officers were dispatched to Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Avenue, following a report of a suspicious person. Norwalk Combined Dispatch advised responding officers that a male suspect had entered a women’s restroom, used a cell phone to record an individual inside, and then fled the area. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, who reported that while inside a stall in the women’s restroom, an individual held a cell phone underneath the stall and appeared to be recording. On March 31, 2026, a financial officer for Maplewood Senior Living of Westport reported that the business had been the victim of check fraud. Three checks mailed as payments to the same vendor between October 2025 and February 2026 had allegedly been intercepted and altered to name different payees. One of the checks, in the amount of $12,085.12, was altered to list 25-year-old Tiery Mene of Rahway, New Jersey, as the payee. Further investigation, including the execution of search warrants for bank records, allegedly showed that Mene deposited the check into his personal account. On February 24, 2023, the Norwalk Public Schools contacted the Norwalk Police Department about the incident. Stefanie Sanabria, a Math Coach, put a martial arts chokehold on the students in class, causing one to lose consciousness. The School Nurse helped the unconscious student right away.
