Norwalk Man Arrested in Street Robbery Investigation

The Norwalk Police Detective Bureau has arrested a Norwalk man in connection with a robbery reported on May 19, 2026, near the intersection of Woodward Avenue and Larsen Street. According to police, patrol officers responded to the area at approximately 8:57 p.m. after a victim reported that an individual grabbed him and removed a wallet from his pants pocket. The wallet reportedly contained $300 in cash. The suspect fled before officers arrived. Detectives took over the investigation, interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage. Bridgeport Woman Fatally Stabbed at Park Avenue Rooming House; Homicide Investigation Underway

The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating the death of a woman found stabbed at a Park Avenue rooming house shortly after midnight on Tuesday. Officers were dispatched to the 350 block of Park Avenue around 12:05 am for an altercation involving numerous persons. The victim, 41-year-old Willesha Riddick of Bridgeport, was bleeding and unresponsive at the front door of the house. She was transported by ambulance to St. Vincent's Hospital and pronounced deceased. It was determined Ms. Reddick was stabbed multiple times. A second female suffered a minor stab wound at the house. They had to run a firehose line from Main Street, where unconfirmed radio reports say that cars ran over the hose line. Firefighters handled the situation and knocked down the fire. Norwalk Police Make Arrest Following Traffic Stop

On March 2, 2026, at 10:52 AM, Norwalk Patrol Officer Arvanitakis observed a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling westbound on Westport Avenue displaying an improper printed temporary registration plate affixed to the rear of the vehicle. Officer Arvanitakis conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of 315 Westport Avenue. During the stop, the operator of the vehicle, identified as Fredrick Jerome Pate, was found to be operating with a suspended driver’s license. Further investigation revealed that the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee was unregistered and uninsured. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered a 9mm magazine loaded with seven rounds from the rear passenger area.
