Bridgeport News: Police Pursuit

2:59pm--#Bridgeport CT--Police are pursuing a stolen vehicle starting in the Hollow to Park Avenue.  They just tossed something out the window at Park and Benham Avenue.  Heading towards Maplewood/Howard Avenue.   The pursuit then went down North Avenue when they turned down Brooklawn Avenue.  The crashed, hitting the curbing just before Hughes/Villa Avenue. Fairfield Police assisted in the manhunt and Stratford Police sent their K-9.  Police quickly apprehended two of the suspects.  A third hid in a basement on Laurel Place.    An alert police officer spotted the open basement door where he found the suspect.  The woman of the house had just put a load of laundry in the basement moments before hand.  Police took the man into custody.…

2:20pm--#Bridgeport CT--A person is reporting to police that their wallet was taken from their shopping car while shopping at BJ's.  How many times have we heard Lieutenant Perez from the Fairfield Police warn us not to leave your personal belongings unattended in a shopping cart!  UPDATE: Police say it is the homeless man that carries the sign saying he cannot speak. Bridgeport News: Police Need Your Help In Shopkeeper’s Murder

Our city’s fifth homicide of the year occurred yesterday at just after 3 p.m. The victim, 57-year-old Jose Salgado and his wife were working in their store, Sapiao’s Grocery at 351 Lexington Ave, when two men came in to rob them, both armed with handguns. They demanded the money and when Jose went to hand the money over, one of the suspects shot him. Jose was taken to St Vincent’s Medical Center but died at 3:46 p.m. The suspects approached the store on foot from Linen Ave. Video evidence shows them walking east on Linen Ave toward the store.
