Governor Signs New Gun Laws

HARTFORD, CT – Joined by advocates and legislators at the State Capitol, Governor Ned Lamont this afternoon held a bill signing ceremony to commemorate the passage of two new laws that will enhance gun safety in Connecticut, including the banning of untraceable “ghost guns” and improving the storage of firearms in motor vehicles. Today also marks National Gun Violence Awareness Day.   Ghost guns are firearms that do not have serial numbers, most commonly because they are sold in parts that can be assembled at home, and thus are not required by current law to have a serial number. Norwalk News: Crash!

2019-06-06--#Norwalk CT--Norwalk Fire responded to a reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment on 59 Winfield st. The car coming south bound at a high rate of speed went off the road through several trees, then landing on top of a pickup truck in the driveway next to the house smashing the window of the home. The two occupants were removed from the car and transported to Norwalk Hospital. The extent of their injuries and their identification is not know at this time. Occupants of the home were not injured. Bridgeport News: Child Ejected During Crash

2019-06-06 @ 7:00PMish--#Bridgeport CT---First responders said a 5 year old girl is in good condition after being eject from a car she was riding in collided with a SUV at the intersection of Amsterdam and Fairview Avenue. She and her mother were transported to the hospital, two others refused medical treatment. The windshields of both vehicles were intact so the girl must have been ejected from the back window. The Ole’ Water Company Trick-Robbery

#Stratford CT--The Stratford Police Department investigated a distraction burglary on Broadbridge Avenue today. The incident occurred at approximately 1030 am when an unidentified male posing as a water company employee used fake identification to gain access to the home stating he needed to check the water in the residence. The homeowner escorted the suspect into the basement at which time two unidentified suspects entered the home and committed the burglary. The suspects fled the scene toward Winter Street prior to police arrival.
