Hidden Trap Found in Vape Shop; Norwalk Man Arrested

2025-07-11@#Norwalk CT—Norwalk Police executed a search warrant at R & R Smoke Shop on Main Street as part of an investigation into unlicensed cannabis sales. Officers discovered a hidden electronic trap beneath the sales counter containing a large stash of marijuana products and THC edibles. The compartment held over 1 kilogram of marijuana products, including pre-rolls, THC vape cartridges, and edibles far exceeding Connecticut’s legal THC limits. Officers also recovered $1,169 in cash. The investigation revealed that the shop was operating without a state-issued cannabis license. Mohamed Mohamed Lebrahim, 28, was arrested at the scene. This morning Judge Murphy sentenced Jose Morales to 65 years in jail, 60 years for his conviction in the homicide of Christine Holloway and 5 years for tampering with evidence in the case. Norwalk Man Arrested for Sexual Assault of Child

Norwalk Police arrested 60-year-old Jose Rodriguez after a months-long investigation into allegations of repeated sexual assaults against a 5-year-old child. The investigation began on March 20, 2025, when the child identified Rodriguez as the suspect. The case was led by the Norwalk Police Special Victims Unit, with assistance from DCF, The Children’s Connection, Yale New Haven Hospital, and the Stamford State’s Attorney’s Office. On July 16, 2025, a warrant was issued, and Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident at his home on Ferris Avenue. He was charged with sexual assault in the first degree and risk of injury to a minor. His bond was set at $1,000,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on July 17, 2025.

Fugitive from New Hampshire Arrested in Norwalk

Officers arrested Jianming Zeng, 33, a fugitive from the Sullivan County House of Corrections in New Hampshire, after responding to a report of a suspicious person at 331 West Avenue. A gas station attendant reported that a man wearing only a t-shirt and underwear, with blood on his hands, had entered the lot in a heavy-duty pickup truck and then left the scene. The truck’s license plate was determined to be stolen from Claremont, New Hampshire. Patrol officers located the truck minutes later at the Shell gas station at 94 West Avenue. Inside the store, they found Zeng, now wearing only a flannel jacket and underwear, with multiple lacerations to his hands and feet. A search of the vehicle uncovered…
