Stratford Police Conduct Prostitution Sting Operations, 15 Arrested

The Stratford Police Department’s Narcotics, Vice, and Intelligence (NVI) Unit conducted multiple prostitution sting operations at local motels in February and March. These operations stemmed from a 2024 armed robbery incident in which a man attempting to solicit prostitution was targeted. That investigation led to the arrests of two men and a woman. Based on intelligence gathered from the 2024 case, police determined that prostitution was prevalent at certain motels in Stratford. The recent sting operations confirmed these findings, resulting in the arrest of 15 individuals, all charged with Patronizing Prostitution. Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust in Greenfield Drive

On March 20, 2025, K9 Officer J. Albani and Officer N. Heis stopped a vehicle on Greenfield Drive for motor vehicle violations and suspicious activity. The driver, Marcus Acosta (28) of Meriden, was handing over his documentation when officers noticed a large amount of marijuana and packaging materials in the backseat. Acosta was taken into custody without incident, and a search of the vehicle uncovered 18.4 lbs. of marijuana, $3,954 in cash, and two cell phones. Acosta was charged with operating a drug factory (21a-277(c)) and possession with intent to sell over 1kg of cannabis (21a-278(b(1D))* with bond set at $250,000. He was also issued an infraction for illegal tinted windows (14-99g(g)).

Vape Shop Arrest in Norwalk

Norwalk Police raided R & R Smoke Shop and Convenience at 213 Main St. on March 18, 2025, marking the third time in four months the shop has been targeted. Officers seized 17.319 pounds of cannabis and $749 in cash as evidence. Abdias Joel Feliz-Garcia, 27, of New Haven, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell over 1 kilogram of cannabis, sale of over 1 kilogram of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He faces an additional charge of cannabis sales from a separate incident, bringing his total bond to $110,000. Old Road/Wakeman Lane Bridge Replacement Project

Traffic Detours April 1 through November 30 Westport, CT - Town Engineer Keith Wilberg has announced that the project to replace the Old Road Bridge over Sasco Creek at the Westport/Fairfield Town Line begins soon. The road is Wakeman Lane in Fairfield. The scheduled closing date of the roadway is on or about Tuesday, April 1, and is expected to continue through November 30. Bridgeport Police Investigate Union Avenue Shooting That Injured 14-Year-Old

Bridgeport police are investigating a shooting that injured a 14-year-old boy on Saturday evening. At approximately 5:10 p.m. on March 22, ShotSpotter detected gunfire in the 700 block of Union Avenue. Around 5:40 p.m., the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center was notified that a teen had arrived at Bridgeport Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle, which was later abandoned on Mill Hill Avenue. Officers secured evidence at both locations, and the Detective Bureau’s Crime Gun Intelligence Team is actively working leads.
