Teen Arrested with Loaded Gun, Extended Magazine, and Drugs
Norwalk police arrested 18-year-old Justin Gross on February 3rd after finding him in possession of a loaded Glock with an extended magazine and marijuana packaged for sale. Detectives had a search warrant for Gross as part of an ongoing investigation. When officers spotted him on Connecticut Avenue around 6:00 PM, he attempted to flee by crossing four lanes of traffic but complied when ordered to stop. Gross faces multiple charges, including Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit, Illegal Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine, and Criminal Possession of a Firearm. Westport Police to Hold “Super Bowl” Food Drive to Benefit Homes with Hope’s Gillespie Center & Westport Human Services
The Westport Police Department, Stop & Shop Store, and Westport Sunrise Rotary will be hosting a Food Drive. All donations will directly support Homes with Hope and Westport Human Services’ Food Pantries. Westport Human Services collaborates with Homes with Hope and the Westport Woman’s Club to offer support for residents dealing with food insecurity. The Gillespie Center provides food services to its resident clients, those at risk of homelessness, and those in need in the community. Westport-based Homes with Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness in Fairfield County. Peeping Plot Foiled: Norwalk Man Arrested for Hidden Bathroom Camera
On January 28, 2025, the Norwalk Police Department arrested Hector Camacho for Criminal Attempt at Voyeurism with Malice following a months-long investigation. The case began on September 29, 2024, when a complainant found a hidden camera in a local restaurant's bathroom. Detectives conducted interviews, reviewed surveillance footage, and used forensic DNA analysis to identify Camacho as the suspect responsible for placing the device. An arrest warrant was obtained, leading to his apprehension by Norwalk Detectives. Camacho, a resident of Weston, CT, is being held on a $75,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on February 11, 2025. Norwalk Police Arrest Suspect in Sexual Assault Case
Norwalk police have arrested Moises Ruiz, 37, of Cliff Street, following an investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving multiple juvenile victims. The investigation, launched by the Special Victims Unit on November 23, 2023, led to an arrest warrant for Ruiz, who was tracked to Gwinnett County, Georgia with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force. Ruiz was taken into custody on January 15, 2025, and extradited to Norwalk on January 28, 2025. He is charged with two counts of Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree and two counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor.
