DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Fairfield News: House Fire

Report of heavy black smoke and fire coming from the back of a home on Pease Ave in Southport. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire which extended through the attic, and there are no reported injuries at this time. Union Solidarity

Today the Bridgeport Teacher's Union met at Fairfield Woods Middle School in Fairfield for a closed all-member union meeting. Jeff Morrissey is the president of the Bridgeport Education Association (BEA), the union that represents the teachers in Bridgeport Public Schools told us that the meeting will address recent changes and listening to member's concerns.
