“HAVEN HOT CHICKEN” OPENING ITS THIRD LOCATION IN NORWALK

#Norwalk, Connecticut – Haven Hot Chicken, which brings NashvilleHot Chicken and “Not Chicken” to the area as one of the first fully dedicated Nashville Hot Chicken concepts in New England, today announced that it its third location at 596 Westport Avenue, Norwalk, will be opening on Saturday, January 28.  This 2500 square foot location will feature the brand’s signature menu of crispy, crunchy, juicy, spicy, delicious chicken and vegetarian options ranging from Country (not spicy) to Haven (extremely spicy), along with their beloved fries, sides and seasonal limited-time offerings.

“We are over the moon to bring our signature menu to Fairfield County, introducing a whole new population to the deliciousness of Nashville-Hot – and ‘Not’ – Chicken Sandwiches,” said Jason Sobocinski, Haven Hot Chicken co-founder.  “To celebrate and meet our new community, we’re planning a big opening day party with a ribbon cutting, activities AND we’ll be giving a free sandwich to the first 300 guests visiting this new hotspot in-person!”

Offering easy in-and-out access and ample parking, the location offers the convenience of a quick bite to eat when running errands at Fed-Ex, Whole Foods, the bank and more.  In addition to 25+ seats for in-house dining, Haven Hot Chicken also offers convenient ordering options of curbside pickup via their website as well as 3rd party delivery through UberEats.

The restaurant’s signature item was voted “Best Chicken Sandwich” in Connecticut Magazine’s annual Readers Poll in 2021.

Bridgeport News: Police Investigate Stabbing

2023-01-29@9:51pm–#Bridgeport CT–Saturday night Bridgeport Police received multiple calls regarding a brawl at Don Raphael Restaurant located at 256 Oak Street. When they arrived they found no dispute but they did find a stab-wound victim. The victim was transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Police are investigating.

Bridgeport News: Holder Holding

#Bridgeport CT–On Tuesday 1/25/2023, the Tactical Narcotics Team (TNT) conducted a narcotics investigation inside and outside of Shorty’s Deli located at 1070 East MainStreet. Officers entered the store and confronted the suspect later identified as John Holder 7/14/89. Holder was found to be in possession of crack cocaine and a loaded firearm. Holder has a valid pistol permit; however, both his pistol permit and firearm were seized.

Holder was charged with:

Possession Intent Dispensing Narcotic (21a-277(a(1A+)

Possession Control Substance (21a-279(a)(1)

His bond was set at $5,000.

This is the 8th firearm recovery made by TNT this year.

Commencement of Bridgeport Police Academy’s 44th Basic Training Class

Bridgeport, CT – This evening, Mayor Ganim and Chief Porter welcomed fourteen new officers into the police force during a graduation ceremony held at University of Bridgeport’s Arnold Berhnard Center. The ceremony follows a six-month long program that took place at the Bridgeport Police Training Academy where the former recruits participated in a variety of training sessions and skill building, led by Lieutenant Angelo Collazo.

Mayor Ganim stated, “I want to congratulate all of the officers that completed their training and can now serve our communities in the best way possible. I commend them for their persistence towards wanting to keep our city safe and protect our residents.”

“It’s my honor and pleasure to welcome these new officers into the profession of Law Enforcement; particularly, those that are joining the Bridgeport Police Department. Those who join Law Enforcement accept and take on a call to serve their communities and fellow citizens. Such an act should be met with extreme gratitude and appreciation,” Chief Porter stated.

Lieutenant Collazo stated, “We appreciate Class 44 for choosing this noble profession, as we all know it’s not easy being a police officer. I know these officers will serve the community with the principles and values that this academy has instilled in them. I wish Class 44 much success and hope they remember this phrase: ‘If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.’”
