Trumbull Police arrested a local man after he was shoplifting at the Trumbull mall and brandished a knife to aid his escape on Thursday, March 16. Jonathan Sierra, age 41, of Benham Avenue, Bridgeport was apprehended by police and charged for his actions regarding this incident. At about 4:00 P.M., the Trumbull police were notified of a robbery involving a male who pulled a knife on JC Penney loss prevention officers while they were attempting to detain him for shoplifting from the store. JC Penney loss prevention officers observed Sierra inside of the store with an open empty bag and observe him conceal multiple pairs of jeans and a watch inside of the bag. #Bridgeport CT--A 26-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested Friday afternoon after he threatened a security guard with a gun at the State Department of Children and Families offices in downtown Bridgeport. At approximately 2:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to 100 Fairfield Ave. on a report of a man smoking marijuana in the building, and then threatening a security guard with a gun after he was ordered to leave. Several minutes later, that suspect, Earl Livingston Williams, 26yrs of age from Bridgeport, was located at the corner of Main St. and John St. He was found in possession of what turned out to be a stolen firearm, and was taken into custody Williams is a convicted felon and is on probation. Bridgeport Police UPDATE: The pedestrian, a Bridgeport Police Officer, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital. The driver of the vehicle did remain on the scene. (Hartford, CT) – The Connecticut Congressional delegation today announced that Connecticut will receive an additional $10.6 million in regular Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funds to assist homeowners with their energy bills. The Town of Fairfield has been designated a member of the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities. Fairfield is one of seven towns in the state to become part of this network.
