DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Porch Fire

Bridgeport Firefighters quickly extinguished a back porch fire on Bradley Street that extended to the garage. Everyone made it out safely from the building. Fire marshal called to investigate the cause of the fire. Heroic Rescue

Tonight, Bridgeport first responders demonstrated remarkable skill and dedication during a water rescue at West Beach at Seaside Park. They were called to the scene after a woman attempted to take her own life. Responders successfully rescued her from the water and performed CPR, ultimately saving her life. Basement Fire

Bridgeport Firefighters were called to the 200 block of Carroll Avenue for a fire in the basement of a multi-family house. Their efforts were delayed because the first floor was boarded up. They made entry and found a couch and chair on fire in the basement which they quickly extinguished.
