Bridgeport Police UPDATE: Police said the officer was responding to a burglary in progress and had the lights and siren activated. The officer and two others in another car were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Bridgeport News: Electrical Fire Drives 23 From Their Home

2021-03-17@5:01pm–#Bridgeport CT– The Red Cross is is helping three families – eighteen adults – five children – after a fire today in the 1200 block Noble Avenue. An electrical fire burned insulation but it was the water damage not so much fire damage that caused the most damage. The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

Bridgeport News: Suspect Wanted For Shooting Arrested After Pursuit/Crash

2021-02-24@10:45am– #Fairfield CT– #cttraffic– A suspect wanted in a shots fired incident in Bridgeport’s east side was apprehend along with the firearm recovery after a pursuit and crash on Tunxis Hill Cutoff and Villa Avenue. The car was being pursued by Bridgeport Police on North Avenue when the suspect turned onto Tunxis Hill Cutoff and crashed into a pickup truck at the intersection (Stop and Shop Gas, Stop and Shop, Andres Diner are at this intersection). The suspect was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Bridgeport Police said in a statement “Today, at 1045 hours, a Shotspotter activation occurred on Helen Street. Officers on patrol located the vehicle and driver responsible for the shooting incident and attempted a motor vehicle stop. The driver fled from the police and was pursued. The pursuit continued through Bridgeport and into the Town of Fairfield. The suspect driver collided with a motorist at the intersection of Tunxis Hill Road and Villa Avenue. The suspect, now identified as Mark Anthony Febres 9/17/95 was taken into custody. The operator of the vehicle Febres struck sustained minor injuries. Febres was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center with life-threatening injuries to his legs and pelvis. A firearm and shell casings were located on Febres person and in the vehicle. Fairfield police are handling the motor vehicle accident in their town and Bridgeport Police will charge Febres with weapons and motor vehicle charges. Febres is currently out on bond for attempted murder after he stabbed his estranged girlfriend. The motive for today’s shooting incident is under investigation”.

Bridgeport News: Firefighters Battle A Heavy Fire On The East Side

2021-02–15@11:31pm–#Bridgeport CT–#ctfire–Firefighters were called to a multi-family fire on the east side at Arctic and William Street. Firefighters were met with heavy fire on both the first and second floor and a defensive attacked was called as well as a second alarm. The assistant fire chief told me that everyone safely made it out of the building. There were no reported injuries. The fire marshal was called to investigate the fire.

Bridgeport New: Person Shot

UPDATE: UPDATE: Police are saying it was a delivery person shot in the back and was transported to the hospital by EMS.

2021-02-06@9:40pm–#Bridgeport CT– A person shot in the 300 block of Dover Street. A witness told me the victim was taken by ambulance at Remington and Stewart Street but the crime scene is in the 300 block of Dover Street.

Bridgeport News: 2 Alarm Fire

2021-01-13@1:29pm–#Bridgeport CT– Firefighters were called to Vine Street that went to two alarms. The home at 32 Vine Street suffered significant damage on all three floors and caused damage to the house to it’s left. Everyone safely made it out and there were no reported injuries to either firefighters or occupants. Preliminary said there was eight that need to be relocated and possibly another eight from the neighboring home.

Robbery Arrest

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Kemuel Jimenez-Rivera DOB 10/29/1981 was taken into custody on

December 29, 2020 by Stratford Detectives with the assistance of the Bridgeport Police Fusion
Center and several Bridgeport Officers. Upon interviewing Jimenez-Rivera he confessed to the
following armed robberies within the City of Bridgeport:
12/23/20 Subway Restaurant 1552 Wood Avenue CFS 110336
12/24/20 Shell Gas Station 2612 Main Street CFS 110602
12/26/20 CVS Pharmacy 3710 Main Street CFS 110602
12/26/20 Chinese Food Restaurant 4565 Main Street CFS 111215
Arrest warrants are pending for these incidents.
Kemuel Jimenez-Rivera also confessed to two Stratford robberies that occurred in the past two
days.

Bridgeport News: 4 Shot Outside Sports Bar – 2 Killed

Police UPDATE: The victims of the homicides that occurred on December 20, 2020 at 456 Connecticut Avenue are identified as Jaheim Warren, 19 of Derby Ct and Andrew Stephenson, 24 of Bridgeport. Both were likely shot as the result on an ongoing dispute. The surviving victims do not appear to have been intended targets. The location where the shootings occurred was formerly Mango’z Sports Bar. This establishment does not have a valid license to sell alcohol or operate as a bar. The circumstances surrounding who owns the bar and why it was open are the subject of this ongoing investigation.

On December 20, 2020 at 0059 hours, shots were fired at Mango’z Sports Bar located at 456 Connecticut Avenue. Arriving officers located three gunshot victims who were all transported by medics to Bridgeport Hospital. A fourth gunshot victim arrived at Bridgeport Hospital by private vehicle. A 19-year-old male victim and a 24-year-old male victim were both pronounced dead at the hospital. A 26-year-old male sustained serious injuries from gunshot wounds but is expected to survive. A 21-year-old male victim sustained non-life-threatening gunshot injuries . Detectives are processing a crime scene at the location of the shooting and are expected to be at the scene throughout the night. 

Officers who initially responded to the scene were met by a large uncooperative crowd. Patrol supervisors requested mutual aid assistance from Stratford Police and the Connecticut State Police to help with crowd control at the crime scene and Bridgeport Hospital. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Bridgeport Police at 203-576-TIPS. Detective Heanue is the lead investigator. He can be reached at 203-581-5242. The identities of the deceased are being withheld at this time pending autopsy and notification of next of kin.

2020-12-20@1:00AMish– #Bridgeport CT– Just before 1a.m. police received a shot spotter activation in the 450 block of Connecticut Avenue. When they arrived on the scene there were 3 people shot outside the Mango’z Sports Bar at 456 Connecticut Avenue. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time. There is no audio in this video but as you can imagine it was a very chaotic and emotional scene. This is still breaking news and information can and will change.
