Bridgeport Fire Department Promotions And Swearing In Ceremony

#Bridgeport CT-- Bridgeport Fire Department held a promotion and swearing in ceremony at Bridgeport City Hall at 45 Lyon Terrace Wednesday. Thirteen new recruits were added to the ranks bringing the department to fully staffed for the first time in many years. Henry Polite was promoted to Fire Marshal. Lamont Jones and Montique Pettway-Moore were promoted to Lieutenant. Promoted to Pumper Engineer is Michael Kamszik, Joao Santos, Mark Bryant, Daniel Russo, Dayshon Smith and Nathaniel Quiles.

Bridgeport News: Road Paving To Begin!!

Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Ganim today announced that the City of Bridgeport will begin the process of milling Thursday, June 28th through Friday, July 6th to prepare roads for paving.   The milling process will remove the current surface area of the road to level and smooth for pavement.  Following the milling process throughout the city, roads will be paved during the week of July 16ththrough July 20th. During this time, drivers are advised of the following: o   Adhere to “No Parking” signs that will be posted to roadways 24 hours prior to milling and paving.  These areas will be enforced and towing will take place if a car is parked on a road that is planned to be milled or paved. o   Follow the detour…

Bridgeport News: Mayor/City Make $ Contributions To City Sports

Bridgeport, CT – In an ongoing effort to support the City’s youth sports programs, Mayor Ganim and the City of Bridgeport donated $8,000 to go towards sports equipment for student-athletes in Bridgeport’s Public High Schools. 8/25 Crash

2:10am--#Bridgeport CT--#cttraffic-- A serious two-car crash on Route 8/25 northbound at exit 2.  Firefighters just completed extricating the victims in the car.  It sounds like a two-car crash. The on the ramp at 27 is closed.  You can see in the photo the guardrail is twisted on the right side of the photo.  Expect major delays, take a different route if possible.

Mayor Ganim joined the U.S. Conference of Mayors and mayors from across the country to visit the Tornillo Migrant Children’s Facility where immigrant children are currently being detained in cages.  This protest mission follows The U.S. Conference of Mayors’ 86th Annual Meeting in Boston where mayors on the Criminal and Social Justice Committee unanimously adopted a resolution on this issue.   Mayor Ganim is a member of the Criminal and Social Justice Committee that passed the resolution to “Reverse the Department of Homeland Security’s Family Separation Policies.” “This is a cruel and inhumane way to treat families and children.
