2019-12-15@12:07am--Police and firefighters worked together to pull a woman out of Long Island Sound near Penfield Beach who attempted to take her own life. Police said she has attempted this in the past. The air temperature was forty six degrees and EMS was treating her for hypothermia.
On Friday, students from Ludlowe High School’s chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Drivers donated toys to the Fairfield Police Department. Police Officer Mark Letsch has been collecting toys for the last twenty years to be distributed to the less fortunate children in Fairfield, Stratford and Bridgeport. He says it is a “really a joy to see the children run out of their house”. They load the toys and deliver them in the mobile command center and they are “blasting Christmas music” from the truck. Suspects were believed to be traveling in a silver BMW. Several minutes later, on December 12, 2019 at 12:09 AM, a second 911 call was received reporting that two males armed with handguns stole a vehicle and personal items from a victim who had just arrived home in the area of Kettle Road. Police Update: Around midnight on 12/12/2019 a silver BMW was car-jacked at gun point in New Haven. Within thirty minutes, it is believed that the suspect(s) then drove to Norwalk and unsuccessfully attempted to car-jack a Maserati at gunpoint. The suspect(s) were then able to successfully car-jack a blue Nissan Altima at gunpoint. Norwalk PD located both vehicles (silver BMW and blue Altima) and pursued them onto I-95 northbound toward Fairfield. Westport PD and Norwalk PD were in pursuit when the BMW exited the 23 off-ramp in Fairfield, and continued immediately on the northbound entrance to I-95. #Fairfield CT--First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick announced today that four local non-profits have received funding commitments from businesses totaling more than $66,000 as a result of the Town’s participation in the State’s Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) program. The commitments represent a nearly 50% increase in pledged gifts from last year. The State’s Neighborhood Assistance Act program incentivizes businesses to make charitable contributions to approved community programs. Businesses that make such charitable gifts are eligible to apply for, and receive, a tax credit against their State corporate tax liability.
