Fairfield News: Manhunt For Alleged Murderer

2019-08-06 @ 2019@08-06 @ #Fairfield CT-- James Taylor who is out on $2 million bond for allegedly shooting his ex-wife to death on Super Bowl Sunday, February 3rd is missing.  James Taylor is charged with murder, home invasion, criminal attempt to commit murder, first-degree burglary, illegal discharge of a firearm and third-degree assault for allegedly fatally shooting his ex-wife. His son Chris Taylor who posted the bond  went to the scene but was turned away to the police station on  Reef Road.  The SWAT or Emergency Service Unit (ESU) is now at the scene.  Superior Court Judge Robert Devlin allowed the 75-year-old Taylor to post his $2 million bond on the condition that he live at his son’s Bronson Road…

Westport News: Sewage Leak Update

#Fairfield Beaches are closed. #Westport CT-- First Selectman Jim Marpe and Public Works Director Peter Ratkiewich announced as of 8:30 PM Saturday night, the sewage leak in the Saugatuck River was completely stopped and temporary pumps are in place to utilize the newly installed pipe. The temporary set up will be in place until the permanent pumps are installed next month. The Town has been in close communication with the Connecticut DEEP and the Weston- Westport Health District. Water quality testing will be performed on Monday in effort to re-open the beaches. Floating Wheelchairs Donated To Local Beaches

On Tuesday, August 6, 2019, SMILE Mass (Small Miracles in Life Exist) will donate floating beach wheelchairs to the towns of Fairfield, Norwalk and Westport, CT at a ceremony taking place at 12 noon at Westport’s Compo Beach Pavilion, 60 Compo Beach Rd., Westport, CT 06880. The public is invited to attend. SMILE Mass has donated over 130 of the floating beach wheelchairs throughout New England.  This will be the first donation to Connecticut. The floatable wheelchairs, which resemble beach recliners, have shock-absorbing wheels that maneuver easily over sandy terrain. Fairfield News: Another Rain Another Vehicle Trapped By Tree & Wires

2019-07-31 @ 7:50pm-- Another rain and another car trapped by wires with a person inside, this time on Crestwood Road.  Police escorted the United Illuminating truck from the exit ramp to the scene.  Police were speaking with the driver who was not in distress and told him to remain in the car.  Primary wires surrounded the car and they burned a couple hundred feet in front of it.  Within twenty minutes UI secured the power and the man was not injured.   Sergeant Mike Paris said this is the fourth incident recently.   On July 17, 2019 a man died when a tree struck his car, entangling his car in wires.  It took UI fifty minutes to respond but first responders…
