2025-08-25 to 2025-09-07@Fairfield CT – Fairfield Restaurant Week is back for its 14th year with a brand-new format. The “Summer Edition” will run from Monday, August 25 through Sunday, September 7, featuring special prix fixe lunch and dinner menus at over two dozen local restaurants. Organized by Fairfield’s Office of Community & Economic Development, the event aims to celebrate and support the town’s vibrant culinary scene. A second “Winter Edition” is also planned for early 2026, giving food lovers even more to look forward to.
BRIDGEPORT – The Barnum Festival continued its 2025 celebration with one of its signature events, Barnum Sails the Sound, bringing together festival supporters, dignitaries, and guests for an evening cruise aboard the PT Barnum, operated by The Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Steamboat Company.
This year’s Ringmaster, Greggory Gnandt, led the festivities, accompanied by members of the Barnum Festival Royal Family. Guests enjoyed scenic views of Long Island Sound while celebrating the festival’s enduring tradition of honoring the legacy of P.T. Barnum, Bridgeport’s most famous showman.
Entertainment for the evening was provided by the band Shameless, whose high-energy performance kept guests dancing throughout the night as the vessel cruised across the Sound. The combination of live music, picturesque views, and lively company made for a memorable evening that continues to highlight the Barnum Festival’s unique charm.
Fred Hall, vice president and general manager of The Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Steamboat Company, was also recognized during the evening. Hall, who served as the 67th Ringmaster of the Barnum Festival, played host as the vessel named after Barnum himself provided the perfect setting for this nautical celebration.
The Barnum Sails the Sound cruise remains a beloved part of the multi-week Barnum Festival, bringing together the community in the spirit of fun, fellowship, and Bridgeport pride.
The Office of Community & Economic Development invites you to join the Town of Fairfield and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce for the annual “Shop and Stroll into Spring” event on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
Over 20+ participating shops in downtown Fairfield will open at their regular times with extended hours through 9 p.m., offering patrons a time to browse, enjoy light refreshments, and shop local with a variety of in-store promotions to kick off the spring season, as well as shop early for graduation and Mother’s Day gifts!
Join us at the Shop & Stroll into Spring Pre-Event Happy Hour, which will take place at RyeBird (11 Unquowa Road) on Thursday, May 1st beginning at 5 p.m. Be sure to stop by and enjoy a variety of food and drink specials before visiting your favorite shops! We will also be giving away free Fairfield Buy Local tote bags with goodies from many of our participating merchants (while supplies last)! All are invited to attend!
This year, we will be partnering with the Friends of the Fairfield Public Library to raise funds and bring awareness to their many wonderful programs throughout the year!

Bridgeport, Connecticut – Creative Youth Productions is excited to announce that we will be performing at Warren Harding High School, located at 379 Bond Street in Bridgeport, CT, on May 15th, 2025. Creative Youth Productions’ staff was welcomed by Harding administrators Mr. Thompson and Mr. Jackson to view their new school built in 2018. Harding has been a staple in the Bridgeport community, having partnerships with prominent organizations such as Bridgeport Hospital, the University of Bridgeport, and Fairfield University.
Harding’s goal is to “ensure that our students graduate ready and equipped to enter the world of tertiary education, work, and beyond; with at least one college credit towards their intended major or skill certification.” Harding has a state-of-the-art theater that is manned by skilled students and staff. We at CYP are thrilled to utilize the space for our most requested and praised play, “Without A Trace.”
The show will tackle topics about cyberbullying, art education, and suicide. It is an original play written by our staff and youth. Some experiences in the play came from our youth’s personal lives. Three talented students are bullied by a troubled student from school, however, they find resolution in the arts. When one (main) character can’t receive access, it leads to an inner battle and a struggle for belonging or purpose in this world.
“Without A Trace” premiered at the Bijou Theater in downtown Bridgeport, June 2024. The show received high remarks from not only the Bijou personnel but also those in the Bridgeport community who stated, “This show should be presented in all schools.” CYP has been asked to perform this brilliant show again, but this time, touring Bridgeport schools.
On March 21st, a sample of “Without A Trace” was performed at Achievement First Middle, starring their students ranging from 5th to 7th grade. The show was a success. We have confirmed a date with Harding High School for May 15th at 1:00 PM, and we are honored to present a 45-minute show followed by a Q&A session with Harding students. CYP wants to share the importance of mental health in urban communities and how art has been proven to help young individuals conquer everyday life struggles as it has done for students in our program.
Creative Youth Productions has been performing throughout Fairfield County for over 20 years. Our nonprofit program teaches youth about art education through creative writing, public speaking, and performing. We accept youth aged 8 to 25, and we offer work to those starting at age 12.
Students can be promoted from performers to youth leaders and receive a stipend for their efforts. Responsibilities may include assisting in classes and reviewing routines and practices. Creative Youth Productions produces original plays that encourage unique creativity.
Our executive director, Donna Sue DeGuzman, emphasizes the importance of the arts, stating, “Students need the arts; without encouraging creativity, how can we expect children to cultivate the necessary skills for adulthood and effectively collaborate with others in the workforce?”

Fairfield, December 30, 2024 – Amidst the festive opening night activities at Wonderland at Roseville, Paul and Cecilia Hongo exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony. Married in front of the tiny chapel nestled in the Halliwell family’s backyard, the couple was joined by friends, family, and members of the public enjoying the holiday display. The wedding added a special touch to the 25th year of this cherished Fairfield tradition. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Cecilia Hongo!
