Fairfield News: Former Police Chief’s Bicycle Stolen

2019-07-04 @ 9:38pm--#Fairfield CT-- I'm sure this is something former Police Chief David Peck heard a lot as a patrol officer, that he left it unattended for a minute.  Well that is what happen to the former chief, he left his bicycle unattended for a just a moment while on South Pine Creek Road and realized it was taken.  He got in his car and was able to locate the thief with the bicycle and followed him to Avalon Gates where he lost track of the suspect.  Police spokesperson Captain Robert Kalamaris confirmed that the suspect and the bike are gone.  The moral of the story is that crime doesn't care who you are even in the nicest of neighborhoods,…

Bridgeport News: Massive House Fire

2019-07-04 @ 3:39pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called to structure fire at a familiar address, a boarded up house at 181 Hanover Street, the scene of two previous fires. The fire became too dangerous and the evacuation tone was sounded for all firefighters to evacuate the building. A second alarm was also sounded. The firefighters then engaged in a defensive attack from the outside of the building. Firefighters fought to keep the fire from jumping to neighboring homes. Within the hour firefighters reported the fire was under control and worked on putting out the hot spots. Firefighters conducted two searches of the building and confirmed that no one was inside. Bridgeport Police UPDATE: According to the Bridgeport Police. The 22 year old male gunshot victim from Green Homes early this morning succumbed to his injuries this afternoon. This is the 10th homicide victim of 2019 and the 51st victim struck by gunfire this year. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Bridgeport Police at 203-576-TIPS (8477). The victims identity is being withheld from the public pending autopsy.   2019-07-04 @ 1:04am--#Bridgeport CT-- A person was shot between building 3 and 4 near the playground area at Greene Homes. Bridgeport News: Yoot Robberies

2019-07-02 @ 9: 47PM  A teen victim of a robbery called 911. Shortly afterwards, officers were dispatched to the 700 block  Chopsey Hill Road where they met a victim who reported being robbed without weapons by two juveniles on bicycles, one of which was known to the victim.  Given the suspects’ name, Police then went to the home of the potential suspect to speak with the parents. The parents assisted Police in locating their child and after a brief broadcast, the juvenile suspects where located on bikes riding throughout the city. Shortly after, both suspects were brought to the police station where the victim positively identified both suspects as the persons’ who robbed the victim.  The victim’s bike was recovered…

Bridgeport Firefighters Battle 2nd Fire

2019-07-03 @ 1:23am--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters just finished battling a fire on Kossuth Street when they were called out to another fire on Savoy Street.  Police were first on the scene and reported to the firefighters heavy fire, the police officer then helped get everyone out of the early morning fire.  Firefighters quickly arrived on scene and initiated their attack.  There was heavy fire coming from the rear of the multi-family home and the fire quickly went to two alarms.  Firefighters conducted a primary and secondary search and confirmed everyone made it out safely.  A firefighter I spoke to said the police's actions contributed there being no deaths or  injuries in this large fire.  Within forty minutes firefighters had most of…
