The Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street in Stratford, will present “Rails To Industry”, an historical lecture/slide presentation on Tuesday, October 15 at 7 pm.  The program is free and open to the public. Local historian Sue DelBianco will discuss the railroad line that ran from Bridgeport to Pittsfield, Massachusetts, which was called The Housatonic Railroad. DelBianco will offer a slide presentation showing captivating images of how the railroad aided in bringing industry alive in Fairfield County and what became of the railroad today. Ansonia Man Arrested Following Investigation into 2023 Overdose Death

On October 9. 2024, the Ansonia Police Department arrested Michael Dupre, age 50, of Ansonia after an overdose death investigation. During the investigation by Detective Jon Troesser, he was able to link Dupre to the sale of narcotics to the 24 year old female victim who overdosed in October of 2023. Michael Dupre was charged with Misrepresentation of a Controlled Substance and Sale of Narcotics. He is being held on a $150,000 bond and was presented today, 10/10/2024, at Derby Superior Court for arraignment.

Milford Police Arrest Stamford Man in Knife-Point Robbery at Lynn Spa

On October 6, 2024, at approximately 10:25am, Milford Police responded to Lynn Spa regarding a robbery at knife point. The victim reported that a customer pulled a knife on her demanding the employee’s phone, money, and clothing. The Detective Bureau responded and assumed the investigation.Investigation led to the arrest of Terrell Meynard, 42, of Stamford who is accused of robbing the female victim, taking her phone and money. Meynard was later located and taken into custody around 10:26pm. He was charged with Robbery 1st and Larceny 5th. He was held on a $500,000 bond and transported to Milford Court on October 7, 2024.

The Ansonia Police Department arrested Michael Bernaud, age 27, of Ansonia for his involvement in a child pornography investigation. Bernaud turned himself in after a warrant was obtained following a lengthy investigation by Detective Mark Clifford. Bernaud was charged with Possession of Child Pornography, two counts of Enticing a Minor by Computer, and two counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor. He is being held on a $150,000 bond and will be presented today, 10/9/2024, at Derby Superior Court for arraignment.
