Stratford News: Joint Task Force Arrests Heroin Dealer, Seizes Drugs and Firearms

https://youtu.be/mIQZYNYgL5o The Stratford Police Narcotics, Vice, and Intelligence Unit, in collaboration with the FBI Safe Street Task Force, conducted an investigation into Angel Nunez, identified as a mid-level narcotics dealer trafficking and selling significant amounts of heroin laced with fentanyl. On July 23, 2024, investigators, with the assistance of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and Bridgeport Police Task Force, executed search warrants at a residence identified as Nunez’s stash apartment. They seized approximately 15.2 grams of raw heroin, packaging material, and items used to process heroin. Additionally, two firearms, an assortment of ammunition, and a tactical vest were found and confiscated. As a previously convicted felon, Nunez is prohibited from possessing firearms. On July 26, 2024, Milford Police were dispatched to Boscov’s at 1201 Boston Post Road in response to a report of a male breaking items inside the store. The investigation led to the arrest of Jonathan Gripes, who was accused of smashing items in the jewelry section and knocking things off shelves. Additionally, Gripes was found to have an active PRAWN warrant for violating probation. He was charged with criminal mischief, breach of peace, and violation of probation, with a bond set at $75,250.

Due to a recent spike in criminal activity within the Trumbull Gardens Housing Community, the Bridgeport Police Regional Task Force launched an investigation into recent "Shots Fired" incidents. As a result of the investigation a search warrant was obtained for a residence within the 400 block of Trumbull Ave.  On July 30, 2024,  members of the Regional Task Force assisted by the Bridgeport Police Department's Emergency Services Unit and Patrol Division served the warrant. Officers seized a Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol with an extended magazine equipped with a switch that converts the firearm to fully automatic. Upon arrival, officers located Sean Cleary, 22, of Milford, who had sustained a graze wound to the head. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A protective sweep of the residence was conducted to ensure there were no additional victims or suspects. During this sweep, officers discovered large quantities of suspected packaged marijuana throughout the home. The detective bureau then assumed the investigation. The investigation led to the seizure of a significant amount of marijuana, various drug paraphernalia, a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and a high-capacity magazine. On July 26, 2024, at approximately 12:35 pm, Westport Police responded to 361 Post Road West (M & T Bank) to investigate an unknown female attempting to withdraw money with fraudulent identification. Responding officers located the female walking in the Whole Foods parking lot and identified her as Brooke Robinson. Through an investigation, the officer determined that Ms. Robinson was allegedly in possession of personal identifying information of an M & T account holder and was allegedly attempting to access their accounts. Ms. Robinson was arrested and transported to Westport Police Department, where she was charged with the above crimes and held on bond.
