Stratford Library has exciting teen events in February. On February 7th at 4:00 pm in the Children's Program Room, tweens (grades 5-7) can learn to create Valentine's Day charms using the Library's 3D Doodle pens. Registration is required. Retro Movie Night on February 8th at 5:00 pm in the Board Room offers an interactive experience watching "Spaceballs." Props are provided, and quoting favorite movie lines is encouraged. Snacks will be available, and registration is required for ages 16 and up. Join the BookBuzz event on February 8th from 4:00 to 4:30 pm on Discord. Bridgeport News: Child Dies In Crash

On 02/06/24 at approximately 6:05am the Bridgeport Emergency Operation Center received several calls for a single motor vehicle crash involving an injured child. The callers reported a vehicle crashing into a utility pole and getting trapped by a tree off the side of the road. The Bridgeport Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to the scene along with Bridgeport Police Officers to render aid.  A preliminary investigation confirmed a silver 2005 Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Reservoir Avenue near Saunders Avenue. The Honda Accord lost control and hit a UI utility pole and came to rest on a tree off the northbound side of the road.  The Honda Accord was occupied by a 29-year-old male operator, a 30-year-old…

Norwalk News: Fatal Motorcycle Accident

On February 4, 2024 at 8:19 AM, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a 911 call reporting an operator of a motorcycle drove off the roadway and struck a telephone pole in the area of 238 West Cedar Street. Norwalk Police, Norwalk Fire Department and Norwalk Hospital Emergency Medical Service were immediately dispatched to the scene and began providing medical aid to the operator, Jared Taylor 41 of Norwalk. Taylor was transported to Norwalk Hospital by ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries. This accident is under active investigation. At approx. 8:02am, The Stratford Fire Dept. was dispatched to 60-62 Park St. for areported structure fire. Under the command of Assistant Chief Alesevich, Engines 1,2, 3, 4, Tac5 and Truck 1 responded with a total of 22 firefighters. Car 1, Car 2,Safety Car 5 and FM office also responded to the scene. On arrival, heavy fire wasvisible on the exterior wrap around porch and roof of the two-family structure, andfire was rapidly extending up the exterior entering the attic. The fire was undercontrol in approx. 30 minutes in part to an aggressive coordination of fire attackand roof ventilation. Bridgeport E6 provided RIT at the scene with E4 and MilfordE3 providing mutual aid station coverage during the incident. One adult…
