Juvenile Struck by Vehicle on Seaview Avenue

On November 20, 2025 at 3:46 PM, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting that a juvenile was struck by a vehicle on Seaview Avenue. Norwalk Police, the Norwalk Fire Department and Norwalk Hospital EMS were immediately dispatched. Patrol officers arrived in the area of 11 Seaview Avenue and located a six-year-old child on the sidewalk and adjacent grass area of the westbound lanes of Seaview Avenue. First responders began providing emergency medical care to the child, who suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital.

The Norwalk Police Crash Reconstruction Unit responded along with the Identification Unit to process the scene and assume the investigation. Based on the preliminary findings, the driver of the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Seaview Avenue when the child ran west across the roadway and was struck. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Connecticut Avenue Crash

Norwalk Police have identified the pedestrian who was seriously injured after being struck on Connecticut Avenue around 5:50 p.m. Tuesday. Officials thanked all media partners who shared the image and the members of the public who called in with information—his identity was confirmed after a caller recognized him on a news platform.

As previously reported, officers located the man with serious injuries in the westbound lanes, and he was transported to Norwalk Hospital. Preliminary findings show he was crossing outside a marked crosswalk when he was struck, and the driver remained on scene. The Crash Reconstruction Unit and Identification Unit are continuing the investigation.

Fairfield Police Arrest Individual Responsible for False SantaCon Promotion


Fairfield, CT – On 11/19/2025, the Fairfield Police Department arrested Fairfield University Student
Emmet Blaney, age 19, of Massapequa, NY, on charges of Criminal Attempt to Commit Disorderly
Conduct and Criminal Attempt to Commit Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree, following an
investigation into Blaney promoting a SantaCon gathering, at specific private residential beach
addresses that he has no affiliation with, and without the homeowner’s permission. These promotions
reached over 600,000 views. Blaney was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in
Bridgeport Superior Court on 12/8/2025.

Stratford Man Charged in Residential Burglary Case

Stratford Police arrested Joseph Benway III, 38, in connection with a January 2, 2025 residential burglary where entry was forced through a broken glass panel on a garage door and approximately $2,000 in currency was reported stolen. Benway, who had previously worked at the home as a contractor, turned himself in on November 12 after detectives developed him as a suspect through multiple search warrants.

Benway was charged with Burglary 1st Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, and Larceny 3rd Degree. His court-set bond was $150,000, which he posted, and he is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on December 3.

Man Charged After Stabbing at Wood Park

Bridgeport Police arrested Evens Dorvelus, 46, on Friday night after a stabbing at Wood Park near Wood Avenue and Benham Avenue shortly before 9 p.m. Officers located Dorvelus minutes later walking on Laurel Avenue with a blood-covered knife in his possession, and he was taken into custody.

The 37-year-old victim was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he underwent surgery for a neck wound and is expected to survive. The motive remains unclear, though witnesses reported the victim may have been trying to diffuse a dispute between Dorvelus and another man.

Dorvelus was charged with Assault in the First Degree and Breach of Peace in the Second Degree, and was held on $100,000 bond.

Jury Finds Bridgeport Man Guilty in Amazon Lot Shooting

A Bridgeport jury has convicted 28-year-old Anthony Vann of first-degree assault for shooting Uber driver Joel Santana Garcia outside the Amazon facility on Long Beach Boulevard in August 2023.

Prosecutors said Vann fired nine shots at the SUV after an argument in the parking lot seriously injuring the driver. Vann admitted pulling the trigger but claimed he acted in self-defense, saying he feared the vehicle would back into him.

Jurors deliberated for about two hours before returning the guilty verdict. Vann has been jailed since his arrest and is scheduled to be sentenced on January 20.
