On January 13, 2023, the Ansonia Police Department arrested an 18-year-old male from New Haven for his involvement in an armed robbery of the Xtra Mart on Wakelee Avenue on July 7, 2022. At the time of the robbery the male was 17-years-old, making him a juvenile at the time of the incident, so his name will not be released at this time. This is the second arrest in the investigation, on October 6, 2022, Christian Borrero, age 18, of New Haven was arrested for his involvement in the robbery. The 18-year-old male was charged with Robbery First Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery First Degree, Larceny Sixth Degree, and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny Sixth Degree. He was turned over to…

The car crashed in front of Sacred Heart University at 5151 Park Avenue The five occupants fled in different directions. A female suspect appeared to be injured from the crash and she EMS was called to evaluate her injuries. #Ansonia CT--On January 11, 2023, Daycus Bailey, age 40 of New Haven, was arrested by warrant for his involvement in the December 29, 2022 shooting on Bridge Street in Ansonia. During the course of the investigation detectives were able to recover the handgun believed to be used by Bailey in the shooting along with other evidence linked to Bailey and the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, detectives are working to identify the other suspect who fired shots during the incident. Daycus Bailey was charged with Criminal Attempt at Assault First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Stealing a Firearm, and Unlawful Discharge. Today, Fairfield Police apprehended Jones without incident at an apartment in the City of NewHaven. Jones was charged with Robbery 2nd Degree and Larceny 5th Degree and held on a $150,000.00 bond. #Ansonia CT--On January 11, 2023, at about 10:30 P.M., the Ansonia Police Department received a complaint of a fight on Grove Street. The first arriving officers met with the victim who reported he was assaulted by his neighbor and then threatened with a handgun by a friend of the neighbor. The neighbor was identified as David Ehler Jr., age 51 of Ansonia, and his friend was identified as George Lanker, age 51 of Ansonia. Lenker, who is a convicted felon, admitted to possessing a handgun, turned the gun over to the officers, and the handgun had no serial numbers. David Ehler Jr. was charged with Assault Third Degree, and Breach of Peace Second Degree, he was released on a $500.00…
#Bridgeport CT--On January 11, 2023, at approximately 7:55 PM Bridgeport Police Officers responded to several calls of shots fired within the 700 block of Frenchtown Road. A short time later the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received information that a male party presented himself at an area hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. The victim is a 20-year-old West Haven man. The Detective Bureau has responded and taken over the investigation. A crime scene was processed on Frenchtown Road and Detectives are working several leads.
