Derby News: Person In The Water and Route 8 Crash

2021-12-25@11:35pm–#Derby CT– There are two separate calls in the same area. The first call came in for a person in the water (Housatonic River) in the lower portion of Caroline Street. There is also a second call for a two car crash on Route 8 at exit 15.

Fairfield News: Robbed At Knifepoint

Police UPDATE:

On 12/25/2021 at 2225 hours patrol was dispatched to Cumberland Farms at 1101 Post
Road for a report of a man being robbed at knife point while in his vehicle. The man
stated to Fairfield Dispatchers that this incident occurred around ten minutes prior to the
call and believed the individual had fled southbound on Beach Road but was not giving
a description of the vehicle.


Patrols arrived on scene and met with the complainant, who showed a blurry picture of
what appeared to be a small black vehicle fleeing the area. Complainant described the
suspect as a while male with a short beard, wearing a grey hoodie, and wielding a
serrated knife with a wooden/red handle.


Complainant stated that he heard someone knock on his passenger
side door and assumed it was a friend. According to the complainant, the suspect
opened the door and threatened to stab the complainant if he did not hand over his
wallet. Complainant gave up his wallet and went inside the store to contact police.
Dolan had around $102.00, his license, and assorted credit cards in his wallet.
Patrol units canvassed the surrounding area, but did not locate the suspect/suspect
vehicle. This incident remains under investigation.

2021-12-25@10:31pm-#Fairfield CT– A person was robbed in the parking lot of Cumberland Farms at Post Road and Beach Road. The victim said it was a white male with a short beard in a gray hoodie who fled south on Beach Road in a dark sedan.

Fairfield News: On-Star Turns In Hit And Run Subscriber

2021-12-25@10:04pm–#Fairfield CT– Fairfield Police received a number of calls for a hit and run accident on Brookside Drive. On-Star called police reporting an accident of Chevy Colorado which turned out to be the striking vehicle. On-Star gave the subscriber’s address on Ruane Street and police located the vehicle in St. Thomas’s parking lot with heavy front end damage and deployed air bags driving erratically and took the person in custody.

Norwalk News: Weapons Charges

#Norwalk CT–On the morning of December 21, 2021, Investigators of the Norwalk Police Department
Special Services Division served Jaequann Gilbert, who was already in prison for
unrelated offenses, with an arrest warrant for charges related to gun possession.
On May 06, 2021 at approximately 11:00 PM, Norwalk Police Officer Wasilewski
attempted to stop a speeding vehicle in the area of Main Avenue. The vehicle took off at
a high rate of speed attempting to elude the officer, and after a short distance the vehicle
lost control and ended up driving onto a property on Ward Street. The operator exited
the vehicle and fled on foot. Canine Officer Van Rensburg responded to the scene with
his Patrol Service Dog, Raza, to track the suspect. This track led officers to the area of
Ward Street. On May 7, 2021 the Special Services Division assumed the investigation.
On the same day, a Ruger Security 9, a 9mm handgun, equipped with a laser and a high
capacity magazine, was located on Ward Street. With the use of numerous investigative
techniques involving forensic evidence, interviews, several search warrants, and six
months of rigorous work, the investigators gleaned that Jaequann Gilbert (DOB
04/14/1992) was the operator of the fleeing vehicle, and was in possession of the
handgun.
An arrest warrant application was submitted for Gilbert’s arrest. Once approved, Special
Services Investigators traveled to MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution where
Gilbert was being held for narcotics related offenses, in order to serve the warrant.
Arrested: JAEQUANN GILBERT, 30, 11 Bell Ct., East Hartford CT
Charges: Criminal Possession of a Pistol or Revovler, Illegal Possession of
Large Capacity Magazines, Interfere With an Officer and Engaging Police in a
Pursuit.
Bond: $250,000 Court set
