Bridgeport News: Officer At Illegal Club Shooting Terminated

2021-06-08 #Bridgeport CT-- Probation Officer Kaitlyn Edwards who was at the illegal after hours club at 1023 Main Street when two men were shot and killed has been terminated effective immediately ,. The Chief of Police, Civil Service Director and the Civil Service Commission today voted to terminate her. Charles Dimples Barnes, 38, of Bloomfield, and, Norman Charles Peter, 40, of Stamford where gunned down inside the club's basement. Police arrested Josiah J. Israel, 35, and Christopher Mojica, 37, on the charges of illegal sale of alcohol, conspiracy to commit illegal sale of alcohol and second-degree reckless endangerment.

#Norwalk CT--On Sunday, June 6, 2021, at approximately 10:22 PM, the Norwalk Police DepartmentCombined Dispatch received 911 calls from Norwalk Hospital regarding a male with a gunshotwound dropped off to Norwalk Hospital by individuals in a vehicle.Police Officers immediately responded to the area of the hospital and found and stopped thevehicle in question. Officers were able to determine that the victim was shot while at MeadowGardens. Officers responded to the area of Meadow Gardens Housing Complex where theylocated and secured a crime scene in the area of the basketball court. Senior Fraud Bill

Connecticut’s state senate passed a bill aimed at helping to protect seniors from fraud (HB 6458). The legislation, which already received state house approval, will now head to the governor’s office for approval.  Creating a task force to study ways for protecting seniors from fraud is the bill's aim. The task force will review the planning services available to Medicaid applicants, according to the amended bill passed unanimously by the state House of Representatives. In response, Steven L. AMR was giving medical attention to an unconscious male, bleeding from his head with a closed swollen eye. The man was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital.
