This afternoon during a press conference, Police Chief Rebecca Garcia said that at 1:10am police were called to a stabbing at 351 Clinton Avenue. The chief said the suspect was “making stabbing motions toward the victim,” Garcia said. Police attempted to de-escalate the incident without success. Police officers Elioz Henry and Sean Curran used a taser in an attempt to stop the suspect 27-year-old Juan Villa. Officer Henry fired his service weapon striking the suspect on the right side. #HARTFORD, CT– Governor Ned Lamont announced today that nearly 25 percent of the 81,000 devices purchased through his administration’s Everybody Learns initiative is scheduled to arrive earlier than anticipated, with some districts seeing deliveries this week. Taken together with the 60,000 Dell laptops provided by the Partnership for Connecticut, the State of Connecticut has now provided more than 141,000 devices targeted primarily to high-need districts and their students. The state has also made substantial progress on its delivery of 60,000 at-home internet connections in the way of personal hotspots and broadband service. The citizen said the 86 year-old male appeared to be confused and could not tell where he lived. The missing man was identified as Segundo Cruz who said he was out for a walk but didn't know for how long he had been walking. Segundo told officers he lives with family but could not remember if he had children or not. A search of the National Crime Information Center system revealed he was missing from Bridgeport. #Bridgeport CT--The City of Bridgeport Engineering Department and Public Facilities has moved into Phase 2 of a $2.5 million City-wide milling and paving project as well as a continuation of a $15 million, 100% federally funded safety improvement project to improve City of Bridgeport intersections on Main Street. In Phase 2 of the city-wide street paving project, milling and paving will include two remaining streets in the 132nd district and streets in the 133rd – 136th districts to be completed by September 25th, 2020. 130th and 131st districts were completed in Phase 1. Additionally, paving is now underway with the Main Street safety improvement project. Residents are advised to expect detours or closures due to construction from North to South at the intersections of Keachele/Main Street, ending at the intersection of Golden Hill/Main Street.…
