On July 10, 2020 at 0159 hours, a Shot Spotter activation indicated gunfire at PT Barnum apartments near building 4. A uniformed police detail that was working in the area responded to the incident and were met by a large crowd. Officers discovered a 21 year old male lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as Teon Kelly of Bridgeport was transported by medics to Bridgeport Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Officer at the shooting scene attempted to identify witnesses, but no one would cooperate with officers, despite that fact that it appears there were dozens of people present when the shooting occurred. 2020-07-09@10:50pm--#Fairfield CT-- A pickup truck lost control after hitting a parked car in the 200 block of Soundview Avenue, bounced off a stone wall and then hit a tree. The driver was able to get out of the car and laid on the lawn until first responders arrived.
Police UPDATE: On July 9, 2020 at approximately 9:10pm Bridgeport Patrol Officers and Bridgeport Firefighters responded to the scene of a serious crash at the intersection of State Street and Park Avenue. Shortly after 9:00pm this evening, the operator of a yellow 2005 Suzuki DRZ400 motorcycle was traveling eastbound on State Street at a high rate of speed. As the motorcyclist approached the intersection of State Street and Park Avenue a female pedestrian, located just west of the intersection, was crossing State Street on foot. The motorcycle struck the female pedestrian causing her to be sent into the westernmost portion of the intersection along with the motorcycle operator; who was ejected during the crash. This morning just after 6:00am patrol officers responded to the end of Second Street for a man who was screaming in the water. The individual was offshore and callers reported he had gone underwater. Sergeant Garrett Kruger and Officer Gabriel Demott went into the water and retrieved the individual, who was brought to shore and given medical attention. The subject was transported to the hospital by Norwalk EMS, where he was pronounced deceased. The Detective Bureau is now investigating this incident. Hartford CT-- Attorney General William Tong released a statement in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Barr v. AAPC, which upheld the federal robocall ban. Earlier this year, Attorney General Tong joined a coalition of 33 states in filing an amicus brief in support of the ban.
