Stratford News: Police Injured In Rollover Crash

On 11-05-2015 Officers responded to the area of Boston Avenue and St. Michaels Avenue to investigate a complaint of erratic operation. Dispatch received a complaint of a grey car striking a parked vehicle and possibly a telephone pole and leaving the scene. Officers saw the vehicle driving erratically and attempted to stop the car. The operator attempted to flee but had blown out tire on the front right. The car swerved on Surf Avenue into the opposite lane toward oncoming traffic. A vehicle attempting to avoid the out of control driver ended up crashing into a Stratford police vehicle. Home Depot Caught Being Awesome To Veterans

#West Haven CT-- Tuesday I had a routine consultation with a doctor at the West Haven Veteran's Hospital.  When I arrived I saw dozens of orange shirts.  Being the nosey report I had to find out what was going on.  It turned out that Kelly from the North Haven Home Depot was leading her troops on their second trip this year to the hospital for Celebration for Veterans Campaign and dozens of volunteers from ten stores were installing pavers to make it more accessible for handicapped veterans.  Kelly told me this was a district project but all the stores volunteer on the local level to give back to local veterans.   What made this story special was there was no press…

Today’s Vehicle Fire

9:41am--#Fairfield CT-- TJ Max on Tunxis Hill  appears continues to be the hot spot for vehicle fires.  A mini-van had a fire fueled by gasoline from the engine compartment that caused the fire to spread in a stream across the street from the store.  Once foam was applied the fire was quickly brought under control.  Radio reports say about 15-20 gallons of gas was spilled on the roadway as a result.  The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection was called regarding the spill.  Firefighters used speedy dry to dam the gasoline to prevent it from going down the storm drain.  The roadway was closed for a short time.  Foam can still be seen on the roadway and police have received calls…
