First responders told me they expect the 5-7-year-old child to be okay despite receiving a head wound when his head hit the roadway after the impact from the truck. Bridgeport News: SUV Crashes Into Grocery/Deli

1:44am--#Bridgeport CT-- Witnesses told me an SUV had made a U-turn on Brooklawn Avenue, up onto the median which is over a foot tall, hit a car in the travel lane, squeezed between two parked cars without hitting them and then into the Brooklawn Grocery & Deli at 652 Brooklawn Avenue. The driver of the car was injured and transported to the hospital. The assistant fire chief told me the driver in the SUV fled on foot. Police are investigating and will be checking surveillance cameras from the businesses in the mini-plaza. 2019-04-13 @ 11:24pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called to a house fire in the 200 block of Anton Street. The assistant fire chief told me that the bathroom ceiling fan caught fire. The firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it extended into the attic. Two fire hoses were used in the operation. One occupant suffered minor smoke inhalation, he was checked out by EMS and refused treatment at the hospital. The fire marshal was called to investigate. Fairfield News: Pedestrian In Critical Condition

#Fairfield CT-- On Friday April 12, 2019 at approximately 0952hrs, the Fairfield Police Emergency Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a pedestrian struck on Sanford Street near the Post Rd in the Town of Fairfield. Upon officer’s arrival, it was determined that a 2013 Hyundai Sonata driven by Schaunta Chambers of Ash Street in Bridgeport, was traveling westbound on Post Rd and turned north on Sanford Street, subsequently striking a pedestrian walking eastbound in the crosswalk across Sanford Street. The pedestrian was identified as Todd Burr, 62, of Fairfield and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The citizen called the police to report that a man was cutting locks of a bicycle. A short time later it was reported the man took off a bicycle turning on to Kings Highway towards Black Rock Turnpike where police caught up with him and apprehended him.
