Home Invasion Suspect Apprehended

Local police were searching for a blue Dodge Ram truck in connection with an alleged home invasion in Shelton. Bridgeport Police found the vehicle on Barnum Avenue and initiated a pursuit when the driver failed to stop. The chase ended on Prince Street, where the suspect was taken into custody.

Child Shot In Monroe

A lone police car remained at Shelton Road and Osborne Lane, where 20 minutes earlier EMS had rushed a two-year-old child who had been shot. The child sustained injuries to the left side and was first taken to Bridgeport Hospital before being transported to Yale. No information on the circumstances is available at this time.

Downed Pole and Wires

A tractor-trailer exiting the DMV access road attempted to turn right onto Colonial Avenue but got caught on low-hanging wires, bringing down a utility pole. (There are regulations for minimum utility line heights to accommodate tractor-trailers.) No injuries were reported.
