Police UPDATE: On March 5, 2023 at approximately 0135 hours Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received a call regarding a pedestrian struck in the 1756 block of East Main Street and the vehicle fled the scene. The pedestrian, later identified at Jimenez, Juan was transported to Bridgeport Hospital in critical condition by American Medical Response. Next of kin was notified and brought to Bridgeport Hospital. The Bridgeport Police Serious Crash Team arrived on scene and are in the process of investigating the incident. Police said in a statement: "On March 4, 2023, at approximately 7:25pm, Bridgeport Police responded to the area of Boston Avenue and Palisades Avenue on a ShotSpotter activation. Citizens also called the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center reporting numerous shots fired and a person shot. Police officers, along with AMR Ambulance medics, responded to the area and located an unresponsive 35-year-old Flushing NY man lying on the ground next to an apartment building at 1525 Boston Avenue. The victim, a Chinese food delivery driver, suffered numerous gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers secured the crime scene and notified the Detective Bureau (DB). #Bridgeport CT--On Tuesday afternoon, the Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a report of an ongoing assault in the 100th block of Aldine Ave. The incident occurred at around 2:21pm, prompting the Bridgeport Police Department to respond immediately to the scene. Upon arrival, the police encountered a heated altercation between two parties, which led to the deployment of their taser unit. The authorities were able to apprehend one suspect and took them into custody. Currently, an active investigation is ongoing regarding the assault, and the authorities have not disclosed any further details regarding the incident.

Police UPDATE: On February 27, 2023, at approximately 5:50 pm the Bridgeport Police Department received a ShotSpotter activation within the 200 block of William Street. A short time later the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received a telephone call from a citizen reporting a vehicle had crashed in this area as well. Police and medical personnel responded to the 200 block of William Street and located a motor vehicle accident scene and a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. The victim, a 22-year-old Stratford man, was transported to the hospital via AMR Ambulance where he is listed in stable condition. He is expected to survive.
