Bridgeport News: Update on the Spring Street Homicide

On September 11, 2024, at approximately 5:45 pm, Bridgeport Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation and reports of a shooting in the 100 block of Spring Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 37-year-old male victim, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, lying in the street. Medics transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The victim's next of kin has been notified. Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was deliberately targeted, with the suspect fleeing the scene in a gray four-door Chevy sedan, headed southbound on East Main Street. UPDATE: The victim passed in the hospital, making this yet another homicide.From BPT Police:On September 11, 2024, at approximately 5:45 pm Bridgeport Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation and reports of a party shot within the 100 block of Spring Street.Upon arrival, officers located a male victim lying in the street suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. UPDATE: This is officially a confirmed homicide From the Bridgeport Police: At 20:11 hrs Bridgeport ECC received a call regarding an aggravated assault with a firearm in the 150 block of Seaview Ave. This incident is now a confirmed homicide. This is an isolated incident and not a threat to the community. This is an active investigation, no further at this time. A shooting occurred at the 150 block of Seaview Avenue. Police are on the lookout for a black Dodge Charger for discharging a firearm in the area of Andover Street in Bridgeport. The Charger was last seen on I-95 getting off of exit 29. This is all according to unconfirmed state police radio reports, and there is no further information at this time.
