Fairfield News: Former Police Chief’s Bicycle Stolen

2019-07-04 @ 9:38pm--#Fairfield CT-- I'm sure this is something former Police Chief David Peck heard a lot as a patrol officer, that he left it unattended for a minute.  Well that is what happen to the former chief, he left his bicycle unattended for a just a moment while on South Pine Creek Road and realized it was taken.  He got in his car and was able to locate the thief with the bicycle and followed him to Avalon Gates where he lost track of the suspect.  Police spokesperson Captain Robert Kalamaris confirmed that the suspect and the bike are gone.  The moral of the story is that crime doesn't care who you are even in the nicest of neighborhoods,…

Fairfield News: 6 Injured In Deck Collapse

2019-06-30 @ 6:40pm--#Fairfield CT--Firefighters were called for a deck collapse on Rhode Island Avenue (across from the Metro Train Station).  Assistant Fire Chief Scott Bisson said six people were injured, one seriously.  The deck had collapsed away from the house so no one was trapped under the deck.  Bisson said the injuries was consistent with a fall from eight feet.  Stratford EMS provided mutual support of additional ambulance and EMS personnel.  The building inspector has been called to the scene to investigate the cause of the collapse.

2:39pm--Extensive storm damage from Norwalk to Bridgeport and all points in between.  Lots of reports of downed trees blocking roadways.  Extensive power outages.   #Fairfield CT-- Downed trees and power lines has a person stuck in the vehicle in front of St. Paul's Church on the Old Post Road.   #Westport CT-- People trapped in the cars due to downed trees on Westport Avenue both in Westport and Fairfield.   #Easton CT-- Route 58 and 136 area has no power and no traffic lights are working.   #Fairfield CT-- Sturges Highway numerous downed trees blocking the roadway in both directions.   #Bridgeport CT-- Numerous power outages reported.   Please feel free to report damage in your area and post pictures…

Fairfield Center Station Repaving Project Scheduled for July 8 – 19

A repaving and repair project will begin Monday, July 8th at the Fairfield Center Station NY/Westbound Lot. Work is expected to be complete by Friday, July 19th. The lot will be worked on in 2 phases. Phase 1 will be the Unquowa Road side; phase 2, the Mill Plain side. The entrance will be closed on the side of the lot undergoing repair/repaving.  There will be no designated permit or day parking areas during the project period. Parking will be available in the other half of the lot, Mill Plain Lot, Tomlinson lower lot, Tomlinson upper lot behind school (though limited) and the small lot immediately south of Roger Ludlowe Middle School.
