Police UPDATE: On May 17, 2019 at approximately 14:52 hours, the Fairfield Police Department's Emergency Communications Center received a report of a motor vehicle crash in front of Super Stop & Shop at 1160 Kings Hwy Cutoff, Fairfield. Shortly after receiving the report of the crash, the Emergency Communications Center received a report of a hold up alarm Peoples Bank inside the same Super Stop & Shop. For Fairfield, this means $700,000 added to our expenses starting July 1.  Let me be clear, this $700,000 is not in our approved budget and would force us to make cuts to services.  This expense line will grow quickly – $1.4 million next year and $2.1 million the following year. #Fairfield Police Press Release--On 5/2/19, a male entered the Subway Sandwich Shop, located at 709 Post Road in Fairfield. The male was described as a black male, 6’0, wearing dark clothes, a hat, and dark sunglasses. The male asked the cashier to make change for a dollar bill, and when the cashier opened the drawer, the male brandished a firearm and subsequently took approximately $390.00 from the register. 10:34pm--#Fairfield CT-- Assistant Chief George Gomola said it was one of those calls you hope you never hear or experience and that was a call of an infant child not breathing. A family who neighbors the police and fire department had an infant child that was not breathing. Instead of waiting for emergency personnel he went to the emergency personnel.
