#Fairfield CT--At approximately 6:02 PM on 07/21/2021, Fairfield Police responded to a report of a robbery at the Charles Schwab Offices located at 1248 Post Road The Charles Schwab Security Hotline called Fairfield Police to report that they received a call from an employee who stated someone had a gun to her head. The hotline identified the location as the Charles Schwab offices located at 1248 Post Rd. Multiple police patrols, supervisors, and detectives immediately responded to the scene. Patrols temporarily shut down traffic to secure the scene while attempting to make contact with employees inside the building. Fairfield News: Jaguar Into The Mill River

Police UPDATE: Police said in a statement that a vehicle crashed through a split rail fence at the intersection of Sturges Road and Unquowa Road. The vehicle continued approximately 100 yards across a downward sloping grass field and came to final rest partially submerged in the Mill River, approximately 25 feet from the shoreline. Officers enter Mill River and found that no one was inside the vehicle. The operator left the scene before officers arrived and he was located near the parking lot of the Carolton on Mill Plain Road just minutes after the crash occurred. 2021-04-28@9:40am– #Fairfield CT– #cttraffic --A truck has driven off the I-95 northbound and into the wooded area off exit 21. Assistant Chief Schuyler Sherwood told me that the driver was out of the vehicle when they arrived, helped out of the truck by passers-by. The driver was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. Traffic is getting by but slowly in both directions. 2021-03-30@4:00AMish-- #Fairfield CT-- #ctfire-- The Fairfield Emergency Communication Center received a 911 report from the occupants of a home at 11 Birchwood Drive of smoke coming from the basement. Engine 2, Engine 3, Engine 1, Engine 4, Rescue 1, Ladder 2 and Car 3 were dispatched. Fairfield Car 3 arrived first and reported heavy smoke coming from the front door of the home. The occupants of the home, which included young children, were in the front yard and reported that everyone was out of the house and that there was a fire in the basement. Fairfield News: Firefighters Investigate Smoke Inside Shop Rite

2021-03-18@9:30PMish--#Fairfield CT-- #ctfire-- Employees at Shop Rite at 1975 Black Rock Turnpike called the fire department for smoke coming out of a ventilation vent. Firefighters immediately went to the roof but were not able to immediately find the source of the fire. The store was evacuated. Rite Aid is expanding into a former jewelry store where the haze was found. Assistant Fire Chief Erik Kalapir said the cause of the smoke was an air handler on the roof. There were no injuries. Fairfield News: Family Of 5 Hit Crossing Black Rock Turnpike

Fairfield Police UPDATE: Fairfield- On 3/18/21 at 1:10 PM Fairfield Police received several 911 calls about a group of pedestrians that were struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Black Rock Turnpike and Stillson Road. Responding officers discovered that five pedestrians were attempting to cross Black Rock Turnpike at the intersection of Stillson Road. Four of the pedestrians (2 adult women along with a 12yo & 4yo) were struck in the crosswalk by a car turning left (north bound) onto Black Rock Turnpike from Stillson Road. The operator of the striking car stopped and remained on scene. #Fairfield CT-- Fairfield's First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick said today that after careful consideration, with the Town's Director of Health, I have decided to lift restrictions requiring all dogs remain on leashes at our open spaces effective immediately. The Rules and Regulations for Open Space Properties will be restored to their pre-pandemic limits. Specifically dogs will be allowed off-leash pursuant to Section 14  (e),  which requires all dogs to be kept under voice command or leash control at all times on open space areas and 14(f) All dogs shall be kept on leash if the animals are within 100 ft. of parking lots or picnic areas. Fairfield News: Fight Brings Out Heavy Police Presence On Grasmere Avenue

#Fairfield CT-- On 3/11/2021 at approximately 3:15pm a Fairfield resident called police to report a fight with weapons on Grasmere Avenue. The complainant reported seeing several males running south on Grasmere Avenue who appeared to be chasing each other with “weapons”. The complainant then stated the males, one which had a machete, ran back into a house on Grasmere Avenue. Given the complainant’s description of multiple people involved and a weapon displayed, a larger police response was dispatched to the area. Fairfield News: High Rise Fire In Fairfield

2021-03-11@9:47pm--#Fairfield CT--#ctfire--Firefighters received an alarm and a pull station at The Alto, a new apartment complex at 1401 Kings Highway next to the Metro Train Station. Firefighters found on their arrival light smoke showing from the roof. Firefighters quickly made access to the sixth floor porch area where the found a fire that appears to have extended from a decorative fire place into the structure. The building was evacuated and firefighters worked to see which apartments can be reoccupied, a number of them below the fireplace received smoke and water damage.
