Investigators recovered 10.75 pounds of illegal marijuana and cannabis items—including 5.35 lbs flower, 2.61 lbs edibles, and 2.79 lbs THC vape products—from throughout the store, including a locked safe, along with $4,632 in cash; they also seized four nitrous oxide canisters, noting FDA warnings that inhalation misuse can cause serious injury or death. NORWALK — Norwalk Police arrested Marc Owens, 56, of Norwalk, in connection with a fatal pedestrian crash on July 12, 2025 that claimed the life of 84-year-old Josephine Pimpinella. At 10:16 a.m., multiple 911 calls reported a pedestrian struck by a pickup truck near 133 Connecticut Avenue. First responders from Norwalk Police, Fire, and Norwalk Hospital EMS found Ms. Pimpinella with serious injuries after she was hit while crossing the driveway entrance; she was transported to Norwalk Hospital, where she later died. The Crash Reconstruction Unit and detectives processed the scene, gathered evidence, canvassed for witnesses and surveillance, and conducted a forensic reconstruction. NORWALK, CT — On October 23, 2025, at approximately 11:25 a.m., Norwalk Combined Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a disturbance at Calf Pasture Beach involving a driver operating erratically and threatening to shoot another motorist. Patrol officers responded, located the suspect BMW X1 traveling on Canfield Avenue, conducted a motor vehicle stop, and detained the operator, identified as Alexander Freedman, 37, of Norwalk, while the investigation proceeded. Witnesses reported the driver had been speeding, driving recklessly, and performing donuts in the parking lot, and that when confronted, he threatened to shoot the individual with a gun from his vehicle. Norwalk Man Arrested for Protective Order Violation; Multiple Warrants Served

NORWALK — On October 19, 2025, at 2:34 p.m., Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a 911 call from a victim reporting that Edgar Mancilla-Giles was outside their residence in violation of an active full no-contact protective order. Patrol officers responded, confirmed the order was in effect and the violation, and learned Mancilla-Giles was wanted on several outstanding arrest warrants; his description was broadcast to additional units. A short time later, officers located Mancilla-Giles in the area of Ely Avenue and took him into custody without incident. He was charged with Criminal Violation of a Protective Order and held on a $100,000 bond with a October 20, 2025 court date. NORWALK — On Thursday, October 9, 2025, at about 6:32 p.m., a Norwalk Police Traffic Unit officer conducting evening commute enforcement in East Norwalk attempted to stop a motorcycle seen westbound on Sunset Hill Avenue without a registration plate. As the light turned red, the officer—Officer Wargo on a marked police motorcycle—directed the rider, later identified as Vladimir Ruales-Espinoza, 33, to shut off the bike. Police say he refused and tried to maneuver around the stop. Officer Wargo blocked the escape; the rider dropped the motorcycle and fled on foot, leading to a brief chase across East Avenue. On September 17, 2025, Norwalk Police Special Services executed a search-and-seizure warrant at A and Z Tobacco & Vape Shop, 108 Connecticut Avenue, as part of an ongoing investigation into smoke shops suspected of selling cannabis without a state license. It was the fifth warrant at this location—and the first under the A and Z name—and investigators say they found a concealed trap built into store shelving holding 15.8 pounds of nitrous oxide “flavored gas,” 2.32 pounds of marijuana in pre-rolls and containers, 1.08 pounds of THC vape products, and 1.22 pounds of cannabis gummies. Firefighters responded this afternoon to Garavel Subaru on Main Avenue in Norwalk after a reported solar panel fire broke out on the roof. Crews quickly arrived on scene around 3:03 p.m. to address the incident and ensure the flames did not spread further into the dealership building. The blaze was confined to rooftop solar panels, and no injuries have been reported at this time. Norwalk Arrest After Westport Ave Threat; Loaded Handgun With Defaced Serial Number Seized

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at approximately 4:23 p.m., Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a 911 call reporting that a male had displayed a handgun and threatened to shoot the caller on Westport Avenue. Responding officers located an individual matching the suspect description; as they approached, the suspect—later identified as Isaiah Mitchell, 21—was seen removing a handgun from his waistband and passing it into the passenger side of a nearby vehicle. Officers detained Mitchell and two individuals in the vehicle without incident and secured the firearm. The on-scene investigation determined Mitchell had also entered the T-Mobile store during the incident and caused a disturbance prior to threatening the original caller. Norwalk PD Makes Arrest in 89-Unit Storage Burglary; Firearms Among Stolen Items

On July 1, 2024, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a report of a commercial burglary at CubeSmart, 162 Bouton Street. Detectives responded, and Detective Barron assumed the investigation. The investigation determined that 89 storage units had been entered and numerous items were stolen, including firearms. Over the next year, Detective Barron obtained multiple search and seizure warrants, analyzed hours of video, and worked with other law enforcement agencies to develop leads and identify suspects. As a result, Detective Barron identified Tylon Gardner as a suspect. In July 2025, Stamford Superior Court issued an arrest warrant for Gardner, and on September 10, 2025, Detective Barron executed the warrant and arrested Gardner at Stamford Superior Court.
