Shelton Neighbor Charged in Long Hill Ave Sexual Assault

On October 31, 2025, Shelton Police responded to a 911 hang-up on Long Hill Avenue near Sullivan Avenue. Officers arrived to find a woman who had run outside and reported that Sean Senerchia, 23, of Shelton, sexually assaulted her inside an apartment. Officers encountered Senerchia inside; he became confrontational and was taken into custody for interfering. Detectives learned the victim knew Senerchia and had been invited in; she stated he forced himself on her, that she fled outside during part of the incident, and that he brought her back into the apartment. Detectives documented evidence on scene and confirmed details with neighbors. Senerchia was charged with Sexual Assault 1st Degree, Strangulation 3rd Degree, Disorderly Conduct, and Interfering with an Officer.…

Shelton Police Arrest Suspect in September 14 Street Takeover Hit-and-Run

Shelton, CT — On 10/15/2025, Shelton Police arrested Jason Berrios, 17, of Norwalk in connection with an individual being struck in the parking lot of 862 Bridgeport Avenue on 09/14/2025 during a street takeover. Berrios turned himself in on an arrest warrant issued as part of the investigation. He was processed and charged with Reckless Driving and Evading Responsibility, released after posting a $25,000 court-set bond, and is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on 11/05/2025. Berrios was charged as an adult, as motor vehicle charges are applicable to 16- and 17-year-olds. Juvenile Struck During Shelton ‘Street Takeover’; Police Seek Fleeing Driver

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2025, Shelton Police and Shelton EMS responded to the parking lot at 862 Bridgeport Avenue for a report of an individual struck by a vehicle during a street takeover. As officers and EMS approached, several vehicles were observed fleeing the area. On scene, officers located a juvenile male who had reportedly been struck by a vehicle operating recklessly in the parking lot. The juvenile was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital for serious injuries. The Shelton Police Department is actively investigating. Shelton Police, working with multiple agencies, arrested 20-year-old Jonathan Damato of Shelton on May 21, 2025, in connection with a series of stolen vehicle cases and local street takeovers. Investigators previously found stolen vehicles at and near his residence and identified Damato as an organizer of recent street takeover events. He was located hiding in a crawl space during the execution of a search warrant and taken into custody. Damato was charged with two counts of larceny of a motor vehicle and interfering with a search. Shelton Police Identify Operator Involved in Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident

On 05/11/2025 at approximately 11:10 PM, Shelton Police, Shelton Fire Department, and Shelton EMS were dispatched to the area of River Rd. (Route 110) and Montgomery St. on a report of a motor vehicle accident. Responding firefighters and police encountered two vehicles involved in a collision. Emergency personnel transported two occupants of one vehicle to Bridgeport Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The sole occupant of the second vehicle was also transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where they were pronounced deceased. The Shelton Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team is actively investigating the incident. The deceased has been identified as Mandie Lassy, age 37, of Terryville.

The Shelton Police Department has responded to approximately 25 vehicle break-ins over the past several days. A firearm was reported stolen in one of the break-ins. The incidents occurred downtown and along the Bridgeport Ave corridor. Police increased patrols and worked with detectives to investigate. During their efforts, they identified a suspect vehicle, which was reported stolen. On 03-03-25, Officer Ray Laudato was patrolling the downtown area due to these recent incidents.
