Within minutes Fairfield's rescue boat was on the scene and help him get back on board. There were no physical problems or complications and he was able to continue his day on the water.

Fire officials working with information from residences downstream, quickly determined the spill came from the Pequot Yacht Club at 669 Harbor Road. Fire officials tell us the spill was minimal of about 1-2 gallons. The Department of Environmental Protection handled the clean up. It hasn't been determined the exact cause for the spill. ©2011

On arrival, police found one man suffering from a stab wound to the left side. He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. Wayne Cooper, 35, of Iranistan Avenue was taken into custody and charged with assault in the first degree.
