A Greater Bridgeport Transit bus struck a wall at the train station, and a total of 6 vehicles are involved, including the bus. The area is currently closed to all traffic. Unconfirmed radio reports said there were multiple injuries and that the area is closed for an accident investigation. It is not known if the trains will stop at the Bridgeport station. Report of a heavy smoke condition on the 1000 block of the Post Road in Fairfield. Firefighters on scene are reporting no visible flames, and that the fire appears to be out at this time, but are inspecting a smoke condition at this time.
Firefighters were called to a structure fire in the 1100 block of Pembroke Street. Firefighters found heavy fire on the third floor. Firefighters immediately began searching for anyone in the large building; everyone made it out safely, and there were no reported injuries. The Red Cross was called to take care of the displaced residents, and the fire marshal was called to investigate the cause of the fire.
