HOW Project Longevity Works To Reduce Violence

#Bridgeport CT-- Last night, the city of Bridgeport held a Zoom meeting of resources available to the city. One that stood out to me was Project Longevity, headed by retired Bridgeport Police Detective Harold Dimbo. When I heard the name, I noticed it sounded like it would be regarding retaining Bridgeport police officers (which is badly needed). The Norwalk Police Activities League (PAL) announces applications are availablefor their 2021 Public Safety Scholarships. Funny Money Arrests

#Fairfield CT-- #Westport CT-- On March 2, 2019, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Westport Police officers responded to thearea of Post Road East at Westfair Drive to assist the Fairfield Police Department with a motorvehicle stop that had been made in Westport. The vehicle in question was stopped because itwas alleged that the occupants had purchased merchandise at stores in Darien, CT usingcounterfeit currency. Suspected counterfeit currency was in fact located in the car and the fouroccupants were arrested by the Darien Police. One of the parties arrested that evening wasidentified as Shelton Petit-Brun.In addition to the suspected counterfeit money, merchandise from a Westport store wasalso located during the car stop. (Westport, CT) - The Westport Downtown Merchants Association will be holding anoutdoor downtown shopping event this Saturday, July 17th from 10:00 AM to 6:00PM. This event will necessitate the closure of Main Street between Post Road Eastand Avery Place as well as Elm Street between Main Street and the Baldwin Lot from6:00 AM until 9:00 PM on Saturday, July 17th. These road closures will result intraffic congestion downtown and increased pedestrian traffic.Motorists should expect delays in the center of town due to these closures. Trumbull News: Crash!

Initial radio reports said the car split in half. Police UPDATE: On Wednesday, July 14, 2021, a single car motor vehicle accident, occurred inTrumbull, ending with the death of a Bridgeport teen. The victim, a seventeen (17) yearold male, was the driver and only occupant of the vehicle.At around 12:30 AM, the Trumbull Police received several 911 calls to report the motorvehicle accident in the area of Old Town Road near Quarry Road. Arriving Trumbullofficers began rendering medical aid to him. Nelson Ambulance arrived and assistedwith treating the victim before transporting him to Bridgeport Hospital where he laterdied from his injuries. Bridgeport News: Homicide

#Bridgeport CT-- On July 12, 2021, at approximately 11:27 p.m. Bridgeport Police responded to the area of Gregory Street and Rennel Court on the report of shots fired with a party down. Upon arrival, officers observed a crowd of citizens surrounding a vehicle parked on Rennell Court with an unresponsive male positioned in the driver’s seat. That person, a 27 year old Ansonia man, was quickly transported to Bridgeport Hospital with a critical gunshot wound.  He passed away this morning at the hospital (July 13,2021)The Detective Bureau Homicide and Identification Units have responded and taken charge of the investigation.  Although they are at the early stages of this investigation, they are currently working on several leads.
