Fairfield Man Extradited from Florida on Multiple Warrants Tied to Domestic Violence by Norwalk Police

Norwalk, CT – In November 2023, Norwalk Police were contacted by Desoto Correctional Institution in Florida about Jacob Getman, a Fairfield man incarcerated on domestic violence charges and wanted on multiple warrants in Connecticut. After confirming he was wanted on several warrants—many involving domestic violence—Norwalk Police arranged for his extradition. On June 22, 2025, members of the Norwalk Police Special Services Division traveled to Florida to extradite Getman, 36, of Fairfield. He was returned to Connecticut and held on a total of $280,000 bond for multiple warrants including four counts of first-degree failure to appear, two counts of violation of a protective order, and two counts of violation of probation. Getman was arraigned at Stamford Court on June 23, 2025.

https://youtu.be/a8FQhJg15Io UPDATE from Bridgeport Police: At approximately 7:21 PM on June 25, 2025, a ShotSpotter Activation was made for 12 rounds near the 40-50 block of Sheridan Street. Responding patrol officers located a crime scene and two victims presented themselves at Bridgeport Hospital. Victim 1, age 26 and victim 2, age 18. Both victims are recovering from surgery and were previously listed in critical condition. Members of the Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) canvassed the area, processed the crime scene, and conducted interviews. Crash With Extrication & DUI-UPDATE

A crash at Fairfield Avenue and Clarkson Street in Bridgeport on Tuesday ended with one driver in the hospital and another in handcuffs. Police say one vehicle was empty when they arrived. The other had a driver trapped inside, who was extricated and taken to St. Vincent’s with unknown injuries. The unoccupied vehicle’s driver, 47-year-old Mark Coover of Bridgeport, asked to move his car—but instead tried to flee. Officers stopped him, and after a brief foot chase, he was arrested. Pedestrian Struck at Kent and Boston Avenue

Police UPDATE: At approximately 9:15 pm last night, Bridgeport PD responded to the intersection of Boston and Kent Avenue to report of an MVA vs. pedestrian. Upon arrival, the pedestrian was in a prone position in the intersection, conscious, and being assisted by AMR and the Bridgeport Fire Department. The pedestrian was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment of the following injuries: a large laceration to the right thigh, injury to the left toe, and multiple abrasions on the left arm. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was cooperative. A pedestrian was hit by a car Monday night at the intersection of Kent and Boston Avenue in Bridgeport.
