Revised Flood Insurance Rate Maps For The Shoreline Area of Fairfield

[caption id="attachment_8435" align="alignright" width="205" caption="The map panels for Fairfield are 418, 419, 436, 437, 438, 556 and 557."][/caption] The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is proposing revised Flood Insurance Rate Maps for the shoreline area of Fairfield. The maps are due to become effective in May of 2013. The impact of these new maps may include additions or modifications of special flood hazard areas, changes in base flood elevations or depths, and flood zone designation changes. FEMA has published notice of the proposed flood hazard determinations on June 8, 2012 in the Connecticut Post. Authorities Investigate Lungs Found On L.A. Sidewalk

Authorities said on Monday that a pair of lungs had been found on a Los Angeles-area sidewalk and that coroner's investigators were trying to determine if they were from a human or an animal. Reuters has the full story here........

Shortly after 1pm Monday firefighters received a call of a porch fire on Lewis Street. Police also received a call of a shooting on Iranistan Avenue near State Street. It didn't take long for them to realize the two calls were connected. Apparently tenants on the third floor on Lewis Street along with a person who frequents the apartment have been arguing. The fire was set on the porch and then a pulling of a knife and subsequent shooting on Iranistan Ave. Police searched the side and backyard on Lewis Street for the firearm. Police have two suspects in custody and continue their investigation.

Trumbull/Bridgeport--Two weeks after a police shooting on Old Town Road that was witnessed by dozens of students on a Frenchtown School bus, school Transportation Director Dawn Perkins is still awed by the calm demeanor and quick actions of bus driver Ralph Cerulo. "He was thinking about the kids the entire time," Perkins said. Perkins recently allowed the Trumbull Times to view video footage from two Trumbull school buses that were at the scene when federal agents attempted to capture Jeffrey Thomas, 21, who had earlier fled police looking into gang-related activity in the area. Woman Claims She Was Arrested For Videotaping Cops

NEW HAVEN -- An Ansonia woman said she was arrested after refusing to give police her cell phone that she used to videotape the officers making an arrest. Jennifer Gondola, 35, said she stuffed her iPhone into her bra when police asked her to turn it over to them. She was then arrested. Connecticut Post has the full story here......

South Carolina--A Myrtle Beach teen's high school graduation on Saturday was ruined when her excited mom, Shannon Cooper, was arrested for cheering.
