Bridgeport News: Rollover Crash
2:28am--#Bridgeport CT--Police are investigating a spectacular rollover crash that amazingly had no injuries. Witnesses tell me the dark colored sedan was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit a parked pickup truck on Fairfield Avenue near Clinton Avenue. The impact rolled over the pickup truck and sent it's transmission into the front lawn. Witnesses told me there was two in the sedan but one had fled the scene, I cannot confirm this at this time. One woman appeared to be taken into custody by police. The roadway was open until about 3:10am when radio broadcast said the road was closed until further notice. 2:01pm--#Bridgeport CT-- UPDATE--Shortly before 2 a.m., Police responded to a report of a man on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound at the intersection of Beach and Jane Streets. First responders located the victim, who was shot in the leg. Police received basic information about a possible suspect and detectives are investigating. The possible suspect was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue shorts. This suspect possibly fled the scene in a small, white-colored vehicle on Beach Street. Westport Police Department Announces Upcoming Promotions
On Thursday, June 12, 2014 the Westport Police Department will promote five officers. The ceremony will take place at 3:00 P.M. in the Westport Police Department classroom. These promotions come after several months of competitive testing and will fill vacancies in rank created through retirements. To be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant: Sergeant Ryan Paulsson was hired in December 2000 and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2012. Report from DEEP Shows Decline in Carbon Emissions (HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy said that Connecticut is making significant progress in reducing statewide emissions of harmful greenhouse gases (GHGs) to meet requirements set in state law, citing a report issued today by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) that details the state’s progress toward meeting the statutory mandate to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 10% below 1990 levels by 2020, and 80% below 2001 levels by 2050.
