DELIVERY VEHICLE STOLEN AT GUNPOINT, VEHICLE AND ITEMS RECOVERED

FAIRFIELD, CT – On December 21, 2024, at approximately 8:31 PM, the Fairfield Police Departmentresponded to a report of a stolen delivery vehicle near the 200 block of Woodrow Avenue in theSouthport section of Fairfield. A delivery driver reported that their vehicle had been taken momentsearlier while making a delivery.The preliminary investigation revealed that while the driver exited the vehicle to deliver a package, anunknown individual entered the vehicle through an open passenger-side door. The suspect was describedas a light-skinned male, dressed in black with a face mask. The driver attempted to intervene but wasthreatened at gunpoint by the suspect, who subsequently drove away in the delivery van.The driver was unharmed and sought assistance from nearby residents to contact police.…

Bridgeport News: Victim ID’d in CT Ave Fire

Today, the Connecticut State Medical Examiner’s office confirmed that an identification was made on the victim from the structure fire that occurred on December 23rd.  The victim Fabienne Laramee, 26 succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The Bridgeport Fire Department sends its condolences to the family during this difficult time.  The Red Cross has assisted another family from this fire totaling: 6 Families (14 adults, 6 children, and 1 dog) The Bridgeport Fire Marshal’s office, in conjunction with the Connecticut State Police, Fire, and Explosion investigation unit are working together as this is an active investigation to determine the cause of this structure fire.

Arrests made in Stolen Motor Vehicle Case

On December 22, 2024, at approximately 2:57 PM, Westport Police responded to a residence on a stolen vehicle report. The complainant reported they pulled into their driveway and went inside while leaving their vehicle, a 2020 Bentley, running in the driveway. While inside, the complainant witnessed unknown suspects steal his car from the driveway. Westport Police observed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed but did not pursue. The vehicle was outfitted with a tracking device and ultimately recovered in Elmhurst, NY, by members of the NYPD. Bridgeport Public Schools is taking a proactive step to address chronic absenteeism and improve student outcomes with its Attendance Task Force, which launched earlier this month. This initiative brings together district leaders, school administrators, educators, parents, and community organizations to develop strategies aimed at reducing chronic absenteeism and fostering student success. Currently, 29% of Bridgeport Public Schools students are identified as chronically absent, with high schools facing the greatest challenges. Man Arrested in NY for Violent Home Invasion and Protective Order Violations in Norwalk

On December 16th, 2024, Christian Chavez-Sosa was arrested in Gloversville, NY, by the US Marshals. Norwalk Detectives transported him back to Norwalk Police Headquarters, where he was charged with Home Invasion, Strangulation in the Second Degree, three Violations of a Protective Order, and Burglary in the First Degree. The home invasion incident occurred when Chavez-Sosa already had an existing protective order in place. On October 30th, he broke into the victim’s home, first destroying items and later re-entering the home only to terrorize the victim again. He strangled the victim as they laid in bed with their (victim’s) child, causing them to lose their breath. This only stopped when someone entered the room, causing an interruption. UPDATE: Unconfirmed radio reports from first responders are saying that it was a person that was struck on the Highway. Why the person was out of their car on the highway is unknown.
