Governor Signs New Gun Laws

HARTFORD, CT – Joined by advocates and legislators at the State Capitol, Governor Ned Lamont this afternoon held a bill signing ceremony to commemorate the passage of two new laws that will enhance gun safety in Connecticut, including the banning of untraceable “ghost guns” and improving the storage of firearms in motor vehicles. Today also marks National Gun Violence Awareness Day.   Ghost guns are firearms that do not have serial numbers, most commonly because they are sold in parts that can be assembled at home, and thus are not required by current law to have a serial number. Governor Applauds Minority Teacher Recruitment and Retention Bill

HARTFORD, CT – Governor Ned Lamont is applauding the Connecticut House of Representatives for voting 150-0  to give final passage to legislation he proposed alongside a number of state legislators that aims to recruit more teachers of color into classrooms in public schools throughout Connecticut. I-95 Stamford Closures

Exit 9 on I-95 will be closed both north and southbound from 11 pm, Friday, May 31 until 5 am Monday, June 3 and again from June 7 to June 10. There will be detours to prevent the flow of traffic from becoming backed up Weekend 1 (May 31st - June 3rd) On Friday, May 31st, the CT Department of Transportation will replace the Route 1 Bridge (East Main Street) over the northbound lanes of I-95 in Stamford. HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont this morning signed legislation he championed alongside a number of state legislators that will increase the minimum hourly wage in Connecticut to $15.00 through a series of gradual increases over the next several years, with the first one taking place this October. 2 From Bridgeport Arrested In Motel Robbery

#Milford Police Press Release:  On May 13, 2019, at approximately 9:45pm the Milford Police Department received a complaint of an Armed Robbery at the Mayflower Motel, 219 Woodmont Road, in which the clerk had been struck in the face with a firearm. Investigation showed a male offender baited the victim out from the back office by claiming the lobby microwave was broken. When the victim responded the male offender grabbed the victim by the neck and pointed a handgun in the victims face.
