Floating Wheelchairs Donated To Local Beaches

On Tuesday, August 6, 2019, SMILE Mass (Small Miracles in Life Exist) will donate floating beach wheelchairs to the towns of Fairfield, Norwalk and Westport, CT at a ceremony taking place at 12 noon at Westport’s Compo Beach Pavilion, 60 Compo Beach Rd., Westport, CT 06880. The public is invited to attend. SMILE Mass has donated over 130 of the floating beach wheelchairs throughout New England.  This will be the first donation to Connecticut. The floatable wheelchairs, which resemble beach recliners, have shock-absorbing wheels that maneuver easily over sandy terrain. Norwalk News: Sexual Assault Arrest

#Norwalk CT-- On June 21, 2019, the Norwalk Police Department Patrol Division investigated a complaint involving Kohl’s Loss Prevention Officer Edwin Espichan. The parents of two female juveniles reported that the juveniles were detained by Espichan in the Kohl’s security office at 500 Connecticut Avenue.  During their detention, Espichan asked for sexual favors in lieu of the police or their parents being called.   Detective Marquis and Detective Lapak of the Special Victims Unit assumed the investigation. The Special Victims Unit’s investigation further revealed that one of the juveniles was sexually assaulted by Espichan while detained. The juvenile victims were eventually released after being detained for over an hour. Later that day Espichan contacted one of the juvenile victims via social…

Norwalk News: Body Found In The Marina

Norwalk Police UPDATE:  On June 30, 2019 at 9:24pm, Norwalk Police, Norwalk Fire and Norwalk Hospital EMS responded to 1 Selleck Street for a male that fallen into the Norwalk River and had not surfaced. Arriving first responders began a search for the male. The Stamford Fire Department responded to the scene with their on-duty dive personnel. Stamford Fire dive personnel located the male underwater and brought him to the surface, where he was transferred to the care of EMS. The male was transported to the Norwalk Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The male was identified as 62 year-old Jozef Gorski of Easton. Norwalk Detectives are investigating the incident and are awaiting the findings of the Office of the…

On June 24, 2019, the Norwalk Police Department was contacted by the Bennington, Vermont Police Department regarding a fugitive named Zachary Dumas, who was believed to be staying on Cedar Street in Norwalk. Dumas had an active arrest warrant for larceny from a person, criminal threatening and habitual criminal which stemmed from a robbery of a restaurant. Special Services Officers began conducting surveillance of the area and observed a Chevrolet sedan park on Summit Avenue. Dumas exited the driver’s side of the vehicle, at which time officers moved in to arrest him.
